My wife and I used Rural Realty to help us find our first home, we were first time buyers and didn't really have a clue what to look for so the "looks OK" thing was all we knew. The service was horrible to begin with as my wife and I are the ones that found the home on the internet! Anyway, we found one in our price range and contacted Randy Durst at Rural to show us the home he had listed and we put a contract on it that day after he told us "at this price it won't last"
After closing Randy told us there *may* be some problems with the wiring and plumbing in the house.. all along he told us that a home inspection was OK and all the house needed was some interior drywall work, $10,000 later we found that all of the wiring in the home was bad, my homeowners insurance wouldn't even cover the house!
All of the plumbing was bad, most of the drains were going right under the house, the floors were rotted due to the leaky plumbing and was covered up with new carpet/tile.
He pays off the local lawyers, the appraisals were false and he was personal friends with the sellers of our house so he did all he could to sell it for them.

Man oh man, NEVER buy a house without an inspection by a certified home inspection service. There are so many hidden problems that they know how to find. Of course the realtor is going to lie to you, that is how they make their living!! Would you trust a used car salesman when he says, 'Sure, this car is perfect!'..
The beef isn't with the realtor, it's your fault for not knowing what to do when buying a house, but common sense should've kicked in and you should've asked to SEE THE INSPECTION REPORT!
