Russ Whitney - United Mortgage Corporation - Douglas Realty - Gulfstream Development Ripoff misleading information over-inflated appraisals ruined credit and lives Cape Coral Florida
My husband and I were not the lucky ones when it came to being scammed by Russ Whitney and his affiliates. We paid $995 to join Russ Whitney's Millionaire University. We attended their first financial training in town and got persuaded to buy into the next educational packet. Yes, if you have the mindset of I've already invested $995, I mind as well enroll in more financial seminars to help me in the real estate business.
Another way they lured us in was they gave us just surface information or enough information to spark your interest. Then they say, for a more detailed explanation or to learn the ins and outs of a particular real estate investment area, you had to enroll an more classes. We got the $22,000 financial training package, and the trainers even showed us how to pay with credit cards by using one to pay off the other. Additionally, they told us that we could write off this amount on our taxes as it was used for higher education. Our CPA told us otherwise because Millionaire University is not a legitimate and accredited educational institution.
In April of 2006, we flew to Cape Coral, FL for a 3-day training. On the last of day of this training, we were offered an opportunity to invest in North Port, FL by purchasing properties as preconstruction loans. When the homes were built within a year's time, we would have a purchase contract through their real estate agency, Doulas Realty. However, they "highly suggested hold the property for further appreciation." In the meantime, they would have a rental management agency to rent our homes for us. It was presentd that there would be a 30%-50% possible return on the investments. This was a one-time opportunity offered for Russ Whitney students only. Their selling line was they wanted us to succeed because we were their students. Success for us is a reflection of their success. In short, we have invested a total of $38,000 in Russ Whitney's empty programs and affiliates. Another of their selling point is how they will provide a personal mentor to help you along your business ventures. Their mentors are fakes and give us usless help, only information that we already know ourselves.
Currently we are in the process of foreclosing on the two North Port homes. You cannot imagine how this has ruined our lives and crushed what's left of our credit history. Just last year we had impeccable credit history. With in a year's time associated with these people, we've basically lost everything that we've worked so hard to establish. These greedy, selfish people knew exactly what market to target and take advantage of. These people have no conscience in doing what they're doing, scamming innocent, naive, and trusting people like us. Our fault in this is falling for these scams. If you have been taken advantage of like us, please contact us as we'd like to persue a class action suit. Russ Whitney and his affiliates have got to be stopped and restoration need to be made.
