In Sept 06 I recieved a call from this company telling me they were the publisher clearing house and that I can get a rollingstone magazine and 3 other magazine for 60 months along with a 1000.00 shopping spree for 3 monthly payments of like $ 50. I said ok Then I called and cancelled the same day. Well 15 months later! On Dec 16 2007 I was checking my online bank account and saw where $138.00 was taken from my accout from SVC Publisher MKT.

I called the bank on Monday Dec 17 2007 and was told it was S.E.F. Publisher and she gave me this 888 number, so I called the number and this lady answers the phone I tell her my bank card has been charged she ask for my invoice number i tell her i don't have one my bank card been charged . She says you need to speak to Mr O'Brian you can call him on the cell phone but he is in a meeting ( cell number 1-941-301-6862) but wait 20 minutes he is in a meeting. I called him but restircted my cell phone number and when he answered the phone, I started to tell him what I that my bank card was charged and he says very rudly since you resticted your number you have top call back in 30 minutes.

When I called back ( again I resticted my number ) i tell him who i am, then he says your account being refunded i see where you cancelled in Sept 06, so I asked him when will that be he says Rudly how in the hell am i supposed to know ask the bank, so I ask Why did yall charge my account he starts screaming at me telling me to SHUT THE F UP you hear me shut the f*** up and hangs up on me. I was pissed I called back got the same lady on the phone ask to speak to his manager or boss she ask me did you talk to Mr O'Brian I said yes he was very rude, she says yeah he rough but he gets the job done. I ask again for the boss she tells me there is only the owners (Ms. Valerie Hedberg, Owner listed on the BBB under southeastern family publishers) and NO ONE ever talk to them they don't get on the phone. He has no boss he's the accountant and part of the legal team. Then she hangs up on me.

I went to the bank to disbute the charges they call get a guy name Rick who said the money will be in my acount in 5 minute( that was at 12 noon it now 9 pm no money) I wriote a letter to Flordia BBB ( there are lots complaints )before I send it I call back thinking maybe I just got to rude people. Susan answered and i ask what is Mr. O'Brian first name she tells me Thomas, then I ask who is the lady that works in his office she tells me Judy. I told her i wanted to speak to their manager. Puts me on hold Judy gets on the phone,I asked her her last name she tells me i don;t have to tell you that.

Then she tells me I told you you will never speak to the manager becaseu the owner never talk on the phone, and if you don't watch it b***h you will never get a reed penny from us and it will cost you more in court fee then 138.00 and hangs up on me. So when I get home i received an invoice in the mail. On this fly by night letter with misspelled words and her name on it Judy Frye with the same cell phone muber 941-301-6862. I called the number she answered and I told her I got your invoice and by the way i have your last name Frye, I was in the middle of telling her I sent a letter to the BBB and I am calling the AG office for the state of Flordia . She tells me I don't give a s**t what happens to you and hangs up.

Well I called the Brandeton police they give two different address which are the same thing but there office is in a strip mall. I will write every magazine I can think of if they let these people represent there magazine then they are only hurting their own business because this company is a fraud and with rude people. I think if eveyone write to the AG of Fla and files a complaint maybe they can do something I will also make it my mission to write to every magazine i can think of and tell if they are letting this company represent them then they are losing sales becasue iof the way they treat people and scam them

EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back!

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO:

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.
