SAFAVIEH Selling Used Furntiture As New Bait and Switch on New Merchandise Stanford Connecticut
Please be very, very careful when dealing with this retailer. While their merchandise appears high-end, trust me their ethics appear to be very questionable.
My wife and I recently purchased a satee from SAFAVIEH for $1,125 we were told by our sales person, Tatiana Zinder, that it would take approximately 4 weeks for the piece to be made. We offered to buy the floor sample, but were told it was not for sale.
Exactly one week later, we received a call from SAFAVIEH, and were told that "they found one in the warehouse" and that we could come pick up the satee.
When we went to pick up the satee, we checked to see if the floor model was still on the floor, thinking that it was odd that the satee became available so quickly. Noting that the satee was not on the floor, my wife asked Ms. Zinder if the satee that they were giving us was the floor model. She replied "it just came from the warehouse and I assure you that this is brand new and is not the floor model."
SAFAVIEH loaded the satee in our truck and we brought it home. Upon brining the satee into our house and unwrapping the padding, we noticed wear on the fabric and several scratches aroung the legs.
We contacted the SAFAVIEH manager, Joe Reyes, immediately by telephone, however he was "in a meeting" and not available. We left our phone number. After not hearing for Mr. Reyes for three hours, we called him back. After initially indicating to me that the satee was indeed new, he told me he would call me back. When he did, he revealed that indeed the satee that we took delivery of was the floor model and did not come from the warehouse.
Do not trust this company. It is obvious they will hide behind their nice decor in an effort to deceive you. All this in the name of making a dollar.
