Okay ,

My name is Anthony **** and Im from Dallas Texas.I purchased a car from a company named SafCo.I was good on my montly payments every month since i got the vehicle, until i lost my job at the end of September and to make things worse my wife lost her job a week  1/2 later. My payments are due are the 26th of every month which i didnt know if i was going to be able to make my September payment after i pay a month of my mortgage, other car & all other expense's with my final check .Then use my savings for food and gas and any other unpaid expense's to get me to the next month till i begin a new job.I called and requested assistance from whom was in charge of my account, which i didnt qualify for so i decided to pay what was due for september.I then was pulled over for a ticket that was already on a payment plan. The jail decided to lift payment plan while i was in jail  and charge me in full which i couldnt pay cause i just lost my job.I decided to sit out ticket and have my wife get my car out which was 100-200 dollars. When she tried they refused and asked me to get it out in person, which i couldnt while i was in jail.I then got out a week later and then went to go get my car but they stated the Finance company picked up the vehicle the other day., I was only in jail no more than a week.I then called Safco trying to figure out whats going on with the car,and where its at and why it was picked up.I get a rep that doesnt give me any info besides an address to where i can get my stuff and if i wanted the vehicle back i need to fill out a request form which will be reviewed and determained by her Manager.I fill out form and wait for a response which i dont get through the week even while calling and leaving message's and emails demanding a response in a timely manner.I then call a week later and the rep transfers me to her manager.

The manager introduced herself as "Nicky".I began to ask on why the car was picked up which she refused to discuss,i then asked on how i can get back the car.My payments are about 390.00 and again i was only due for October. The Manager was very rude and had a careless attitude about helping and then asked me a series of questions on why i deserve the car back.I told her i didnt want to have a loss on my credit, and she said even if i get the car back its going to have a repossion on my credit.I explained that i worked for Citi Auto for 2 years and my credit shouldnt get marked unless car is sold. She then told me she will get to the point and the amount is going to be 3,500 by tomorrow.I was so confused and asked her why so much ,she then stated i need to pay for all the fee's that were applied to account and the past due balance.I asked why when i was only a month due,and she said when i paid for september payment that i didnt pay a 15.00  late fee which took out of the 390.00 and which my payment didnt satisfy the month of sept.(When i made the payment with the rep ,He asked for the amount i owed which i paid .There was any late fee's and he didnt tell me my payment was not going to satisfy Sept. in full.)Okay back to the manager,i was shocked by the amount she asked.I asked is there any other way we can work out this so i can save my car,she said i can payoff the car and she will send my title to me and then i can work it out however i want. I was waiting for her to show some sign that she was just kidding but she WASNT.I felt like .....No words to discribe.I asked her to be realist on the amount and she laughed but with an attitude.I was silent for a while not knowing what to say next .I felt intimidated and i just didnt know what else i can do.She said okay if money drops in outta know where from the sky to give her a call , and thats if the car isnt sold by then..i just hung up.!!!

I already lost my house and everything else i worked for ,NOW MY CAR and my dignity..

Name of Manager:Nicky 1800-599-8858 ext 12118

I had a financial hardship ..Companys like this hurt people that are in need and take advantage of the weak, they are rude and cant seem to look from how it is on our end.Companys shouldnt be in buisness that are presented like this and im sure the CEO is the same way.I might just be another piece of useless life to them that they feel they can take advantage of.You could be next....

That this is the entire story.  It seems more probable that you are slanting the story in your favor.

As near as I can see you lost your job at the end of September and your wife at the beginning of October(?).  Unless there is more it would also follow that you were current with your payments up until this time.  Yet it is now only Mid-November and in that time you have not only lost this car, but your House as well?  How could you loose your house in this short of a time, especially if you made your payment as it appears you said you did.

know if i was going to be able to make my September payment after i pay a month of my mortgage,

Now, the reason they picked up the car is because they were the lien holder, so the tow company as standard procedure notified them as well.  Had you not been put in jail, which I am sure has more to the story as well, it is very unlikely that they would have repossessed the car.

It is also hard to believe that you worked for a finance company because you have some basic misunderstandings of finance.  First you should know full well that if your car is repossessed that goes on your credit report.  But if you redeem the loan then it gets updated with the new status.  The second thing is that you seemed surprised that they required you to pay off the loan.  As working in finance I am very sure that you required this many times.  Especially if you felt that the same situation would occur again.
