I paid SAFE RIDE WARRANTY, LLC $2,611.00 for an extended warranty. I asked for a refund December 2009 from SAFE RIDE, but -- NOW, March 2010, SAFE RIDE is no longer in business, I am told.
There are FIVE companies associated with SAFE RIDE who have been lying to me, and giving me the run around, all refusing to refund anything. These companies are:
INTERSTATE National Dealer servicer? - 333 Earl Ovington Blvd., Suite. 700, Uniondale, NY 11553 -- who told me at first they did NOT issue refund checks...
TIER ONE WARRANTY SERVICE, PO Box 680144, Houston, Texas 77268 - AND - 3707 FM 1960 West, Suite 450, Houston, TX, 77068 - phone 800-497-5633 - FAX 800-689-7432 - ...these folks were at least able to call INTERSTATE and got the following information: INTERSTATE does issue the REFUND check! And they told me the amount of the refund would be $666.00
WHAT??!! $666.oo out of $2,611.00??!! That is not a refund, that is a RIP OFF!
MEPCO FINANCE CORP., 174 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL, 60601 1-800-397-6767 or FAX 312-853-0535 -- who actuall took my $2,611.00 as the "Payment Plan Servicer" refused to even talk to me, saying, "We don't refund anything."
EXTENDED WARRANTY CORPORATION 1-636-720-1883, Tanya and Joe and was told that there was a formula for refunds using this number 67.4% WHAT THE HELL is that?
My contract with SAFE RIDE specifically states that a refund must be based on one of two pro rata formulas, by month, or, by miles. NOT this 67.4% !!! Just another type of BS to rip off consumers.
I phoned the Smyrna, Georgia POLICE and left a message for the Crimnal Fraud Division detective, Lt. Tony Leonard, but he has not returned my call. I also sent a letter to CBS 60 MINUTES asking them to investigate and report on this nationwide scandal that has ripped off thousands of people. I also sent an email to a local TV station in Smyrna, GA asking them to investigate this FRAUD.
I am praying that an attorney will contact me and be willing to file a class action suit to help all of us get ALL of our money back!
Personally, being in my mid-fifties, totally and permanently disabled, NOT receiving this refund of my money has forced me into bankruptcy and facing foreclosure! I am hurting so bad, and I don't want to be homeless AGAIN. This is the first home I have ever owned and I'm losing it because of liars and cheats and thieves like these SAFE RIDE bastards.
Organize! All of us who have been ripped off by SAFE RIDE need to get an attorney and go after these criminals! There is a lot of money to be refunded to a lot of people, and a class action suit is perfect for this case. Come on! There must be ONE attorney out there willing to take this case!
