Complaint Review: Safecart

Safecart Abused the use of Paypal to invade my bank acct. and make recurring charges. Unknown Internet

I'm not even sure how they came into my computer but they do the usual "cleaning" and then "reporting" things that need fixing. Next I am invited to purchase Safecart's cureall fixit. After declining several times I got charged for it anyway, for three times in as many weeks. They did it through Paypal and my Suntrust Bank acct. I have since cancelled Suntrust and am waiting upon Paypal response. Now that I see how Paypal can be manipulated, I am thinking of disposing of them as a tool. Any advice, anyone?

Actually that is good advice and analysis. You are probably right on all counts. Nevertheless the company is still lowdown to use such weak links to their advantage. Legitimate companies should be joining us in blackballing these crooks because if other victims are like me, we will do our shopping locally or not at all.

Click-itis...

The issue you appear to be facing is commonly called "click-it is". What this term means is that YOU clicked away and agreed to ANY terms and conditions presented to you during your FIRST TIME dealing with them. It is more commonly seen in "free Trial" offers online. Such as a free trial of a skin cream for $4.99 which is supposed to cover Shipping and handling. But as MOST people DO NOT READ EVERYTHING, especially on the computer, they end up agreeing to a reoccuring billing and THEY the consumer has GIVEN the online company EXPRESS PERMISSION to withdraw ANY funds that the consumer agreed to. Im betting that IF you went through the payment process again and THIS TIME took a few extra mins to READ EVERYTHING, you would see that buried in all of that information is YOU agreeing to this charge EVERYTIME they do ANYTHING. You are handling the situation the correct way by getting rid of the card and getting a new one. BUT!!! You have to understand that by entering what is YOUR PERSONAL payment information AND hitting the "agree" button YOU have in effect signed a electronic contract that is just as binding as one YOU put your signature on. The ONLY way to combat this is to ensure that you have FULLY read ALL the terms and conditions BEFORE you agree to ANY payment. I would also suggest that you get yourself a PREPAID debit/credit card for ANY online purchases. This protects YOU and doesn't give ANYONE a chance to target YOUR funds. As a prepaid card has ONLY the money that YOU put on it. It sounds like a pain in the a*s but its worth it in the long run.
