Safeguard Properties Fraud ohio

My contracto with Safeguard properties was recently terminated after 3+ years doing property presevation for this company due to me refusing to do a 10 page home inspection for free on all their properties.

My home inspections in this nature usually run around $250.00-$450.00 for this type of work, and they wanted this work done for free.

The same day I was terminated, I received a charge back from the company for $4,190.00 stating that I had not reported 3 missing bricks on the exterior of a property back in May 2013.  On the 5 occasions we were at the property, these bricks were reported on the update, and photos submitted showing these bricks missing.

The coicidence behind this is that the $4,190.00 is the same amount due to me for previous work performed.  Seems like they like to terminate their good contractors, and then try not to have to pay them what they are due for fraudulant issues.

As you note, Safeguard employees are under pressure to get their work orders completed asap.  Its unfortunate that contractors are left accountable for Safeguard's taking on more than they can chew and lack of adequate coverage/employees to handle the workload.  As a current employee with the company, I must tell you I agree with your viewpoint.  I feel horable that I send daily chargebacks to contractors when I know we have overwhelmed them with work in the first place.  I hate that we don't pay even the minimal trip charge to obtain bids, yet in some cases we are charging our clients up to $210 for them.  Even when the bids are just arbitrary and dont result in work, we're making a profit, but may send you out to the property multiple times for the same bid.  This adds to your work load and increases the chance that you're going to be charged back on another order that has not been completed on time.  I'm grasping for a paycheck, but my upper management tells me that this is something I must do (dont kill the messenger, its dog eat dog and I have a family to support).  If I dont follow management's guidelines then I'm ridiculed in our weekly meetings and out on the street like a bum.  I'm compiling a list of complains, please email (((redacted)))  I wish the best for all contractors that put up with this crap.
