On a whim, I decided to search for Safeway, as your stories are too familiar. I was in an accident where a Safeway insured turned left in front of me, and was ticketed for failure to yield. To begin with, the accident occured on a Thursday, and I didn't even get to speak with a Safeway representative (Laurie Quter) until the following Tuesday, and she was of no assistance. I heard the same stories as are already reported. Initially, it was my understanding that the driver was the wife of the car owner. When speaking to Ms. Quter, the driver was not listed on the policy, and they have to do the "investigation" to determine if she had permission to drive. I ended up going through State Farm (my insurance) to handle the repair of my car, and have paid out of pocket for a rental car. It's looking like I have a long road ahead of me, as Ms. Quter was anything but helpful on the phone with me.

#3REBUTTAL Individual responds

I have a court case with Safeway Insurance.
It has been nearly 3 years . I have yet to collect
what is due for damage and personal injury.

I need any assitance for a scheduled jury
trail. Any one willing to participate is welcome.

My case is usaul. There was personal injury, property damage, rental car expenses.
I was treated rudely and and non exisitant.

Finally I am out of pocket sevarl thousand dollars. Safeway refuses to acknowledge
the damage and injuries and refuses to pay.

STOP CORPORATE TERRISIM. STOP SAFEWAY INSURANCE.

State Farm will get the money

#3Consumer Suggestion

You did the right thing. It is usually futile to deal with the other driver's insurance company yourself, especially if they are crooked. State Farm will lean on them and get repaid for what they had to pay to repair your car. It's like trying to negotiate with sharks; it's best to stay outside the tank and watch.

Make SURE that State Farm doesn't consider you at all at fault for the accident and try to raise your rates. Keep the proof that the other driver got a ticket. If there is a court date for this ticket, be sure to show up and tell the judge what happened. It is likely that the other driver won't even show, and thus be automatically convicted. Then you have airtight proof that the crash wasn't your fault.
