One day i came home from work and there was a UPS notice for delivery at my door. It said final attempt to deliver and there was a number to call. I didn't recall ordering anything from ups so i was curious and called the number. Some guy answers the phone " publix gift card giveaway" and he goes on and on about their company giving away free groceries for testing our water. I declined simply because they pretended to be UPS . Then when i call they answer the phone as if their Publix. Then the guy on the phone said it will only take 15mins we test your water real quick and you get a free $25 gift card to Publix and you get to see the condition of your water for free. Pretty much he was a smooth talker and talked me into it. He said the delivery would be at 4 . They ended up coming at 6pm. A goofy older white guy comes to my house in a brand new white Porsche to deliver my gift card. I kid you not he looked like the man from Dispicable Me. He comes into my house and he starts running his mouth and doing a sales presentation!! I swear he must of been on pills or something. He was talking overly loud. He kept asking questions and in the middle of my response he would scream out ha! Everytime it was the weirdest thing. He has been in my house for over a hour testing my water and basically tries to scare me into a sale. Telling me the government didn't want to spill the beans and there putting cancer in my water blah blah blah and tries to sell us a water system. I think his name was Bryan Anderson. He bragged about being the owner of the company. This guy had no finesse to him at all. Basically a blind guy can see his overly exaggerated sales tactics in just his demeanor alone and the way he carried himself. He used text book sales lingo. He tries to use your words against you. Pathetic. It was deceiving first you pretend to be UPS and leave a note on my door. Then they pretend to be publix. And tell u only 15mins of my time is all's that's needed and that turned into over a hour! And now im having a water softener pushed down my throat. My wife got so upset she left the room. We tried not to show our frustration out of respect. Everytime we would tell him no he had a lower model and a lower price for us. He then tried to act cocky and act like he didn't need our business when in fact if that was true he wouldn't have been in my home over a hour dropping price over and over. They even called us the next day offering another price drop. I mean come on when im ready to get a water system I'll go to home depot and get one. From someone I trust. And it wont cost me $10,000!! These guys mark there price up so much it isn't funny. Come on Bryan came to my house in a Porsche trying to get me for $10,000. This guy is nuts. These direct sales business's are so lucrative. They make so much money because they over price there product by 20times the actual amount even higher and use scare tactics to get you to buy like "The government is putting cancer in our water, they spilled the beans". There over head is so low and they have no real workers on pay roll. And they tell these guys bs about them being "independent contractors" and make them sign contracts when in fact there not providing their own work equipment so they deserve a hourly rate. It's all over the internet people outraged. And that's how they get rich driving fancy cars and living in fancy houses by pocketing all the money, not paying there workers and taking advantage of weak minded people and selling them a overly priced product. There crooks. And i dont know how Bryan and his family sleeps at night. So I've did some research to see if this has happened to people and it has alot. There a page on FL attorney general Pam Bondi's page warning everyone to be aware of free water tests. Here's the link myfloridalegal.com/pages.nsf/main/3d0fd1650fc920c485256cc900698282!opendocument
