I went to local chevy dealership to purchase a car. They sent finance inquiry to 3 financial institutions one of which was Ally Bank in Hartford, CT. I obtained my loan from GM Fina cial. Prior to this purchase it had been 4 yrs since I had paid off my old car, so first loan needed since then. My credit scores between the 3 majors ran from 650-700. The letter I received for denial states no credit score available with Equifax, yet talking to equifax they have my score currently at 658 ( though since this i have reviewed their report and proven multiple pd off, lien releases, and inaccuracies if which they have removed 4 of the 6 negative reports and still wirking on the remival if the other two. The second reprting agency was SageStream who reported my score at 427. I tried to go on line to get report so I could challenge. They wanted copies of drivers licence, social security card, passport and or birth certificate to prove who I was. Hell no I didn't give out my info. Call in I got message machine with same instructions. They stated denial based on inquiries adversely affected the score. Limited history at this address and phone. We've lived here 4 years, my phone number I've had for 15+ yrs. Not enough bank card debt experience, I have had no need to get a card other than my debit card from my bank.and not enough debt experience... I am 56 yrs old, seriously, I have pd all my debts and usually have done it early. They also say that scores range from 1 to 999, seriously different than established agencies.
