After fifteen years of being a stay at hom mom of 3, I decided to go to Empire Beauty School. I was not elligable for much assistance because I was married and my husband had a job. I was interviewed by Sallie Mae on the telephone in the recruiters office. Of course I was accepted and I was happy I could advance my career training. No one ever discussed the interest rate with me. It wasn't until after I graduated that I received the bill.
18% interest on a $7,000.00 loan. That is alot! I would have never accepted the loan if I had known the interest rate was that high! SCAM!

Then since I can't make the payments I contacted the office. I was told I could get a forbearance on the telephone by one representative. I am not making enough money. One week later I received a statement saying that Career training loans are not eligible for forbearance due to finacial hard ship.
Sallie Mae called my sister in law ,and my mother law harrasing them about payment. I am so stressed out they call me at my work. When I offer to send 100.00 payment they say they can't accept less than 400$. I don't know what else to do.
