Salvage World is a complete scam. I bought a car from them and paid several hundred dollars more than I should have. I bid a max bid of 2500.00 then they said it cost 300.00 more to get it. Salvage World was slow to pay the lot holding the car so I had to pay lot storage fees. Extremely hard to talk with someone on the phone, when I did they were rude and hung up on me. Here is exactly how they rip you off. They lead you to believe you are actually bidding on the vehicle and will get it for the high bid. You are actually bidding again Salvage World. They tell you you may have to bid on several cars before you get one. Why? It's because they are the ones actually bidding on the car, try's to buy it cheap they jack the price up and rip you off. The cars are all beings sold from Copart or Insurance Auto Auctions. The public, you can buy directly from either one of these reputable companies. Copart has a free Public buyer registration and IAA charges 200.00. The big difference is you can buy directly from these companies and pay the actual price for the vehicle. To prove my point, look at a car for sale at Salvage World then go to one of these other auction sites. You will see the car for sale with the actual high bid at the time you look. At the same time Salvage World will show the high bid as several hundred dollars more. Next look at when the car actually goes on sale. Salvage World will show the bidding closing several hours before it actually sells. In a nutshell they are hoping to get you to bid hundred or thousands of dollars more than they can buy it for during the actual live action. If they can't get it cheap enough and make several hundred dollars they lie and tell you they had to pay more or they simply couldn't get the car. I learned a lesson and paid a stupid tax. I now buy my Salvage cars from IAA, they have good deals and the money you save more than makes up for the registration fees. I can't believe Salvage World is still in business!!
