We bought a dodge dakota originally from Sam Dell Dodge with an extended warranty. First we never recieved information on the warranty so did not know to keep records of maintenance done on the vehicle. Which Sam Dells admitted there mistake by not giving us the information we should have been given.

Well the dakotas motor blew and the warranty company would not fix, so they (Sam Dell) told us to trade the truck in for another. We had done all the paperwork and signed it for a new vehicle. The new vehicle was ours so we thought, until we received a call saying they don't want the truck because it has a blown motor and they would be taking a a loss.

They knew about the truck going into this deal and drew up the contracts trading the truck for a new car. So they created another deal using my 1998 Ford Windstar for the car and our understanding was they were using the truck to be traded in for another used truck for my husband. Well when all the papers were signed yet again, they handed my husband the title which had already been signed over to them.

There representive said they did not want the truck and we would have 3 vehicle payments or they told us that we could let the loan on the dakota to default and have it repossessed. We own our own home would cause a lien put on the house and Sam Dell's rep said they could not do this, which is totally wrong. We talked to the automotive place the loan is with and they confirmed this fact. Now we gave them all they wanted and they screwed us.

The first contract that was done was a CONTRACT and they could not do this. The loss shold have been there problem because they knew the deal when we went into this. Also for the record everything was approved with the financial institution so the deal with trading in the truck for the car was a done deal.

But they failed to tell us this important information. So if you decide to trade in a vehicle to get another one and sign all the proper documentation and drive away in your new car or truck you better not get used to the new one because they can screw you in a heart beat.

Sam Dell has screwed so many people in the past that the AG might just make them honor the original deal. Make sure that you have the signed copy of the contract. Keep the original for yourself. Be sure to enclose any documents that will help your case.

I have dealt with Sam Dell for the last two years and it has been a nightmare. Do not finance through their finance company - go through your own if you can. It will save you thousands.

Best of luck to you. Keep us posted
