Warning to Consumers, Do not buy a Samsung Television. They will break down and Samsung will not honor their warranty. I know because I tried for over three months and missed the entire NFL Season and still have not received my TV. Trust me on this!! Life is to short to deal with this horrible company. Save your time and money.

After 3 months of trying to get Samsung to honor their warranty, I have finally decided to give up and buy a new television. I thought I would try and help other customers and help them avoid a similar situation.

Basically, my wife and I bought a 30" Samsung Television last year for $800 and after about two months it began clicking on and off constantly and it made viewing almost impossible. I called "Televue" a company that contracts with Samsung to do repairs and they came to my house to pick it up. About a two weeks later they called me and told me that the television was beyond repair and they had requested an exchange with Samsung and that Samsung would send the TV to them and drop it off.

I waited another month and still never received the TV. I then called Samsung to see what the deal was and a really nice lady named Sherry told me that the most direct way of getting the exchange is for Samsung to send an exchange form to Best Buy and to pick it up personally after best buy approves the exchange order. I took Sherry's advice but it was completely useless.

I have made weekly phone calls for the past two months to both Samsung and Best Buy to get an exchange for the television they sold me. The only thing more worthless than the television they sold me is their horrible customer service. They will wear you down until you just "give up" so that they don't have to honor their warranty. I hold Best Buy equally responsible for my situation because they are the store that sold me the television and have done nothing to resolve the situation despite 12 phone calls requesting assistance.

After three months without a television I have finally decided to go buy a new TV but have learned a valuable lesson in the process. I will never buy another Samsung product or set foot in a best buy for the rest of my life. I hope this notice will help future consumers to avoid the headaches and save $800 or more of your hard earned money.

Hope this is useful...

how to get a new TV From Best Buy

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Sat, January 27, 2007

I've handled situations like this before as an employee. Best buy is not bias. they are perfectly willing to give you a brand new TV. All they want is someone (ACTUALLY anyone in the world) to pay for it besides them..

you call 1-888-best-buy ask for in-home repairs. you explain that the tv has been in home serviced dozens of times (actually not by best buy but 3rd party companies) and samsung has authorized you to get a new TV, you have the offical authorization letter from samsung in hand (which you don't really) but the local store says you need to fax it to the corporate repair authorization office. so they can give approval to the local store to give you the new TV. the store didn't know the fax# so your calling for it. what's the name & fax# to sent the letter to?

now call samsung and ask them to fax you a copy
of the authorization letter. if you don't get one within 72hrs, send a certified letter to them basically explaining the problem, requesting the letter, then file a complaint with the BBB.

once it's in the best buy system as "in home services junkout approvals" they will be happy to give you a new unit.
