In May 2008 I purchased a Samsung 52" LCD TV. Last week(Nov 09) my tv started powering off and on repeatedly. This would go on for as long as the tv was plugged in.

I found a website where a Samsung rep stated that there was a problem with faulty capacitors and was causing the tv to "Power Cycle" repeatedly.

There are thousands of people posting complaints about the same problem. Samsung admitted the problem, however they would only fix the first 50 people to reply to the thread...

After calling Samsung Tech Support(1 800 Samsung) I was told that I was out of luck because the tv was over a year old, and that the initial response was to deny any support until a complaint has been filed 3 times. After more calls I was told that my problem would be escalated to someone who could help me, and that I would recieve a call back within 3 days.

8 days later no call.

Beware if you buy Samsung TV's, there are literally 10's of 1000's of posts about their tv's going out in the same manner.
