My phone died overnight charging on my kitchen countertop. The phone in question is my Samsung S5 active. I tried a new battery, new charging cord and nothing helped. The screen was just black. After calling support and going through the variety of resets. They said to send my phone in. That's when the nightmare started. Online support after a couple conversations said to call in to give my credit card details for a replacement. Called in and they said that was not possible and to wait 9-11 days. I talked to support on Facebook and said I needed my phone for work and they bumped me up to 72 hours. Sounds good, right? Well support comes back the next day with:

*08/19/2015//11:50:31//*//Telephone//ASC*
8/19/2015 10:46 AM-PBA Inspection: The unit has left the technician. SOLUTION: BER

Liquid damaged on PBA components

Which almost seems copy and pasted from the many other water damaged reports. The only problem is I only use my Active for work and it sits in my laptop bag 90% of the time. I don't use it as an outdoor phone nor go diving in pools.

Secondly, I didn't send my phone in a "Box & Cushion", I sent it in bubble wrapped air bag which is further proof that they're just copy and pasting this excuse. Samsung must think "water damaged" is an easy excuse to not fix phones for the "Active" line.

I've had bad support and the run around from big companies before, I almost expect that but to have lies made up to not repair my phone is apalling. I will never purchase a Samsung product ever again. This was my 3rd Galaxy and they're all great phones but Samsung itself is down right cheats.
