I purchased a Samsung Digital camera while on vacation in Florida back on New Years Day. In March the camera started giving me problems and the lens cover would not open completely upon powering up. End of March the camera eventually stopped opening the lens all together and I immediately contacted Samsung. Upon relocating in April I spoke with another rep who promised to email me a shipping label to send the camera back... I never received it.


Over the course of these past 6 months I have spent countless hours on the phone with Samsung to get this item repaired and/or replaced with no luck. I got every runaround possible. I had reps tell me they couldn't email me a label because I had moved from the date I originally placed the claim, others had incorrect email addresses and contact information on file all together, to others stating I couldn't do anything without a receipt (eventhough it was still under a mfg warranty from date of mfg).


I finally gave up trying to deal with Samsung after all this time and no help and no call backs from their so called Executive Relations Dept. I filed a report with the BBB and within a week got a call from a rep who promised to email me a label to get this unit "looked at". It is now Oct and I had to go and purchase a new camera and having it looked at just wouldn't cut it anymore. After a lengthy phone call they agreed to refund me for the amount I purchased the camera for. I explained I didn't have the receipt but was trying to obtain one from the Merchant (no easy task either) and she agreed to research how much I'd get in return without a receipt and notify me via phone and email. Neither of those calls or emails were ever returned.


Today, October 7, 2009, I call and speak with someone in the Exec. Rel Dept who stated they had a issued a refund for a lot less than the purchase price and I was emailed and notified of it... such was not the case.


I finally get the receipt to them via their online upload system and the new excuse is they cannot honor it because it doesn't state it's a Samsung Product on the receipt only that it's a camera bundle that was purchased.  This company is outrageous and downright dirty with their shady practices and lack of interest in fixing simple issues to keep their customers happy and coming back. I was always a fan of Samsung products but after this experience I will never buy another product from them again.
