I live near Sand N Sudz Laundry in Holmes Beach.  I am not a tourist to the area as most customers are who visit this laundromat.  I'd been washing my clothes at Sand N Sudz every week for over a month before this incident occured.  I had also been using the same three residential-size top-loading washers.

I noticed one evening while washing my clothes that all three top-loader washers I was using were not filling even half-full of water for the rinse cycles.  This alarmed me because I knew my clothes weren't being rinsed properly as these machines are not high-efficiency washers by any means.

After the three machines had been finished cycling I loaded my clothes into a large front loading washer hoping to get the rest of the detergent out that had been left in my clothes by the previous washers.  I didn't use any detergent and couldn't believe how much soap had been left!  It took two cycles in that front loader to get the detergent out of my clothes so as to show hardly any sudzing.

I contacted the owner/president of Sand N Sudz the next day, a Michael Arkin using the emergency number posted inside the laundromat.  The other phone number only connected me to their answering machine.

I explained to Mr. Arkin that I noticed his top-loading washers were only filling not even half-full of water on the rinse cycles and these were the traditional washers, not high-efficiency machines.  I asked him for a refund of $9 which he instead instead that the water levels in his machines were within legal limits.  I threatened to contact the state Attorney General's office to file a complaint.  Mr. Arkin said "no problem" so I hung-up the phone in disgust then filed a complaint online and decided to leave reviews along with this report here.

I feel it's negligent on the part of Mr. Arkin not to have his top-loading washing machines set to provide more rinse water!  Those old-fashioned top-loading machines are not high-efficiency washers and were designed to have full tubs of water on the rinse cycles!  People like myself itch and scratch from detergent left in clothes not rinsed properly!  I also had tiny red dots that appeared on my body in various places not knowing what they were caused by!  They disappeared soon after I bought my own washing machine and started doing my laundry at home.
