from freelancer.com to develop a website for me. I paid him half of the agreed upon $2500.00 in advance to build the site. After 3 weeks, they put up what they said they had been working on and I immediately recognized it as a freeware script with no customization for my approval. When I disapproved of it, they told me I was out of luck, no refunds, feel free to fire me if you wish.
I did fire them and now I want to be sure they don't do this to anyone else. They have a perfect score on freelancer.com which I am very suspicious of. Being a web designer, they may have a way of padding all the numbers and jobs they list. There is no way that I am the first person with an issue.
When hiring a web designer, I will never use someone I can't meet...
