We received the worst level of customer service possible. The dealership's Internet sales rep basically lied to us to get us in the door. We told her that we wanted pretty much an even trade for our car for a new Sorento. She told us it was the end of the year, they were overstocked and desperate to make a deal. She told us to only work with her as we would get special Internet pricing. We called again before going down there to repeat that we didn't want payments. We wanted an even swap. She said that she would either do that for us or get us a close as possible.

We went down and she passed us off to a sales rep who had no idea why we were there. They were nowhere close an even swap on our car for a Sorento. In fact there were over $7000 away from it. I emailed their general manager Mike Reid the next day that called me about a day later to apologize and said he would work on the deal personally and get back to me within hours. A week went by and he never called. I had to call him and email him.

We played phone tag for a few days and then he ultimately never called me back. Another week went by and Joe Verde Jr. calls me trying to fix the situation because I had told Mike Reid in an email I would be filing complaints. Joe admitted he was trying to do damage control and seemed more annoyed with the situation rather than wanting to help.

My wife and I decided that we were very turned off by the whole dealership and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and with the corporate offices of Kia. Joe Verde Jr called me today because he received the BBB complaint. He was very upsetwith me and admitted that he was only calling to "*itch me out" because the complaint was filed. I had to hang up on him because he was so rude on the phone.

He then called and left a message at my home phone saying that I didn't have a heart and that I wasn't compassionate. All of this was uncalled for and not necessary. The BBB allows for a way for him to voice his response that is professional. He chose to call and yell at me instead. I am not looking for any money or even a free car. I filing the complaints because Santa Ana Kia treated us poorly, they lied to us to get us down there, and now have called to yell at me.

They need to be dealt with and the public needs to know they are a bad place to buy a car and a bad business.

If the dealer really wanted to get even with you, they'd give you the car! Kia's are problem-plagued unreliable junkers, just read the many Rip-Off reports on these cars. And don't be fooled by the 100,000 mile warranty trap. To keep this warranty valid, you have to keep bringing the car to the Kia dealer for grossly overpriced routine maintenance. You'll more than pay for the cost of the warranty with oil changes alone that cost three times more than you'd pay at a place like Jiffy Lube. Save up and buy a Honda.

Bob, you have no money for them to steal. What's the sense of working any deal with you?

Trade cars? How does that make them a dime? They get your used car in exchange for their new car.

There's no profit in that. Most people would see that.

Of course, they want you to take your deal somewhere else. That's why they never called.

Could I interest you in spending your Saturday afternoon cutting my lawn in exchange for a big sandwich and a glass of lemonade? Would you waste your time with that?

The dealership works the same way. They want money. Big money. Save some up, then try again.

It's amazing how good the service is when you walk in with a $10,000 credit card for a down payment. Once they see that you have something worth stealing, they'll perk right up.
