Complaint Review: Santa Lucia Security Co. S. A.

I received this letter claiming that I've won a prize of USD $ 615,810.00 from the EL- GORDO DE LA PRIMITIVA LOTTERY PROGRAM held on the 23rd Dec, 2004. And it said that my name was attached to ticket number 031-1127-841 with serial no. 3214-07, the winning numbers are 21-22-37-39-41-49. I was told to give my "claim agent" a call to begin my claim. The agent was called FERNANDO TORRES.

This letter looked so real that I almost believed in it at first. But then, it is also too suspicious at the same time. Firstly, I've never been to Spain in my whole life, and that I've never participated in any lotteries before. How could I possibly win a prize there? Secondly, the envelope doesn't have a return address. I doubt any proper companies would leave this important detail out, wouldn't they? Thirdly, this letter is more like a photocopy, the graphics are too blur to be the real document. Fourthly, if I really did win the lottery, why didn't they require me to show them my ticket for validation? It's a large amount of money we're talking about. Finally, it makes no sense for them to request for my bank account for the transfer. Sending out cheques would be a more sensible way of delivering the prize, wouldn't it? This was where I became fully aware of its possibility of being a trap.

Luckily, I checked about this company online before I made my move. And I saw heaps of reports against this company, all these people had received the same letter, though some of them have a different set of numbers. So, all I can say is, that company has just wasted the postal fee. I'd like to take this opportunity to advise people who may receive this letter in the future. DON'T TRUST THIS KIND OF THINGS, EVEN IF THEY LOOK REAL. ALWAYS LOOK IT UP ONLINE, OR SOMEWHERE ELSE. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN IT COMES TO GIVING YOUR BANK ACCOUNT DETAILS AWAY.
