I got a letter with ELGORDO, Loteria Primitiva letter head informing of a Award Claim Final Notification (My name was only on the envelop, not on the letter). When I called the number in Spain, they said I need to fill out my details (bank a/c etc) and fax it to them to get my prize before the weekend. They said I bought something made in Spain and may not remember giving my details - and that it was genuine. I checked the internet and found all these scam reports. I called them back. Mr Luis Sanchez, I was told was in a meeting - but when I said fraud/all over the internet/scam, he came on the phone. He said I need to pay tax for the lottery and they need the funds before they can give me the prize money. He said I could come to Spain myself and pay the tax myself. I said I coukd ask a friend to pay the tax on my behalf, but he said it had to be personal visit. Give me your flight numbers , we will pick you up at the airport and make you complete all thepaper work, he said. The people who are crying fraud, are wrong he said. Is there anyone who has paid the tax and not got any money, he asked. I never saw anyone more eager to have me get the lottery prize money (that I dont remember applying for).
