Sarah the film production services put out a call for a driver/production assistant for a 30 day film production in New York which I submitted for. A few days later an individual by the name of Tina called asking me if I would go to Manhattan to pick up a truck load of film equipment and then deliver it to a storage lot in Brooklyn and then return a few days later to begin the production schedule.

I questioned Tina as to what size of truck the company had in mind and she said that she was not certain and I warned her that due to gross weight and whether or not the vehicle had air brakes that there were driver class license restrictions. When I arrived at the rental house the assigned vehicle was a 5 ton bobtail truck with air brakes and I called Tina to alert her that particular vehicle required a commercial class license in my opinion due to the weight of the equipment package and told her I did not have a requisite air brake endorsement, but that I would move the vehicle to the storage lot in consideration of all the other members of the crew who were depending on earning their wages.

I was required to sign for the rental truck and equipment pacakage. Upon arrival at the storage lot the parking attendants were not aware of the actual size of the vehicle until I got there and that it's size was a problem. After a few minutes of discussion they agreed to take the vehicle and again I was required to sign the vehicle in and produce my drivers license. When I got back home I sent Tina an email saying I would not be driving the vehicle after all on account of gross weight and air brakes. Thereafter I emailed out of pocket expenses for parking my personal vehicle and cab fare. Weeks passed before Sarah the film production services finally paid out if pocket expenses and has since never actually paid for the 9 hours labor.
