This man goes by various names and works a pretty sophisticated scam. He will make up a story about finding a rare record,  for example The Beatles - Butcher cover, or Robert Johnson on Vocalion. He will say that in his area there are no stores to sell this type of thing, so he would like to sell it out of town. Generally, he will find you on craigslist "wanted" sections, although he appears to have listed rare comic books in Los Angeles and other cities.

He will claim to live in Clarksville, IN or the vicinity of Louisville, KY.

Essentially, he sends you photos of the item you are interested in (a counterfit version he creates), and he will write your name on a piece of paper to establish proof of him having the item.

He works in cahoots with a woman, who claims to be a nurse. She will vehemently deny any wrongdoing or that her husband "saul" would ever do that.

They are clearly sociopaths, and will not send you any item. He provides a FedEx PAK package with 1x1x1 dimensions as proof of shipment. He will also show camera phone photos of a USPS tracking receipt that appears to be forged. He claims to be at the Kroger waiting for the Western Union payment, and will even say that he already has the shipping number. He is a very beleivable character over the phone, with a charming southern accent. This is largely how his scam works. He chooses obscure items, and plays on greed.

Eventually, when you threaten law enforcement, he will threaten to beat you up. They are very elaborate scammers, and should be carefully watched.
