This company is a total scam. After being promised a 'free' modem and router with my new cox cable triple bundle home service, I was forced to contract for the 'freebies' with a 3rd party for the 'free' offers. Saveology.com is the 3rd party, and after a sketchy series of phone transfers, I was finally asked of my information, credit card number, etc. I was also told they charge my card immediately, and I do not have the choice of shipping options, and that it would be sent at a $20.00 cost to me, which is not included in the 'rebate' offer. I didn't feel $20 was too bad for a free modem and a free router to be shipped to me. But, when I was transferred yet again and asked once again for my card info by a new individual, I began to feel uneasy about the entire transaction. While on the phone with them, I went to my online banking and transferred all funds out of my checking account associated with my check card. To be safe, I then cancelled that card to prevent them from making any charges, and ordered a new card. Fortunately for me that I did, as my credit union rep told me that 'saveology tech' had tried to process an amount of $160.00, which I did not authorize!

The 'free' modem is $69.99 and the 'free' router is $59.99. However, I was told that the $129.98 'rebate' will not be automatic, and after reading the fine print on my paperwork from cox, it is also not guaranteed. I was instructed to 'apply' for the rebate on their website AFTER receiving the items (and after being immediately billed of course), and they would 'determine' my eligiblity after a minimum of 16 weeks, and then I could call back to check on the status. I am thankful I cancelled the transaction, before being ripped off by this scam company. It is far more cost effective to buy my own choice of modem and router, with no scams involved. If you see this offer, don't fall for it!

SaveologyTech Exceptional Customer Care

#3Consumer Comment

Thu, March 08, 2012

After we got a laptop, I discovered we needed more equipment to make it work. I found SaveologyTech, called in an order, and put the charges on my credit card.

When the gear arrived (only two days later), I had learned that due to misunderstandings at both ends of the line, I needed to return it.  So, I sent an e-mail, offering to eat the shipping cost, but asking for the rest to be credited to my card.

Then to see how they might treat customers under such circumstances, I looked for comments about this company.  I found some positive ones, but also some that made me wonder if I would ever even receive any reply to my e-mail.  But only a few hours later, I got a call from a manager who made me feel like she was a friend who wanted to solve my problem as fully as possible.  She said all charges, even for shipping, would be refunded, and they were the next day, before I even sent the items back.  At least for the way they treated me, I would certainly say, Bravo, SaveologyTech.

#3UPDATE EX-employee responds

As if the customers they rip off isn't enough, They fired me for "recruiting" for another company I hadn't even heard of. They lied to me during my whole employee. This consumer is correct. They have changed the company name several times and they bill under different names to duck and dodge the consumer. It is a relief to not be employed by this company. But the issue still remains. Not only was I fired without just cause, they shorted my last check ( after I had just moved ) and really needed the $$. As if that wasn't enough I went to resolve the issue and they sent the CFO of the company to run me out as if they had something to hide. This was on veterans day ( I'm also a vet ) so if a lawyer is reading this please help. It's so hard to stop them they are so sneaky the way they do business with consumers and employees alike...
