I recently found out I was being charged $29.95 a month (Canadian funds) on my Mastercard. It was from a free credit report I got 10 months ago. I remember canceling it but they never did actually cancel it (It's a scam on top another scam). I had 7 days to cancel my membership to get my free credit report but not be charged... I learned my lesson...

I hate these darn internet companies that take advantage of people. What I got from the membership with savingsmart.ca was a 5% discount on gift certificates... Who wants to pay 30 bucks a month for that???

I consider myself lucky cause they are refunding me 7 months, out of the 10 months I was billed. So only lost 100 bucks. I repeat, don't fall victim to these scammers and sweet talkers. I can't imagine the amount of money these bastards make for nothing... How can we stop them?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Don't sign up for any "free" offers that require you to give out your credit card info.  The only reason anyone needs your card info is to charge you for something.  If they require your card info, you can be sure it's not "free".
