SBC/ATT DSL Internet Service Rebate ripoff - 2 Wire Gateway Saginaw Michigan

On 2-16-2006 I upgraded my SBC/ATT DSL Internet service and also purchased their 2Wire wireless gateway for $109 (w/shipping & taxes) because they were offering a $50 rebate. I mailed in the form on 2-22-06 and waited the required 8 weeks.

Late April 2006 - No check and the website showed no info about my rebate so I called the SBC Rebate center (800-228-5015) to inquire. I was told that I did not qualify for the rebate so I requested an investigation. I was told to call back.

Early May 2006 - I called the rebate center again and was told that I did indeed qualify for the rebate and that my check would arrive in 6-8 weeks.

Mid June 2006 - No check so I called again and was told that the rebate was being processed and would arrive in 6-8 weeks as of May 25,2006.

July 31,2006 - No check and I called again. This time I was told that my rebate was REPROSESSED and will arrive 4-6 weeks as of July 10th, 2006. (Yeah, right!!!)

I have since been to several forums I found with Google and this seems to be a pretty common thing with many, many other people. So I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and will also do so with my states Attorney General's Office and our Public Service Commission.

It seems that SBC/ATT just hpoes that people will tire of calling and relent, with them pocketing our rebate money. Well, I will NOT STOP until I have my 50 bucks!!!
