Complaint Review: SBGA

SBGA / Bill Morrison I was lied to and cheated by SBGA and by Bill Morrison, senior business consultant. It cost me nearly $2000 to get out of all the contracts they signed me up for. Milford Delaware

I was contacted by SBGA.  It is possible that I misunderstood, but I thought it was the SBA who helped me get a business loan to buy my commercial store building.  They told me they suspected that I was being cheated by my current credit card processor and for no cost, they would send a representative to go over my account and see if I was being charged fraudulently and if they could help me.

Enter Bill Morrison. He came to my store, looked over my credit card receipts and assured me that World Pay was indeed charging me for things illegally.  He said that he could get me a better service, and would take care of cancelling World Pay and any associated fees.  He showed me that it would save me money each month.  He lied.

He brought me a contract with dozens of pages and like a fool, I took his word for what I was signing instead of having an attorney look it over.  I was never told about many, MANY hidden charges and fees.  Indeed the rate I was being charged per transaction was sometimes lower than what I had, but I was being charged a monthly fee for two statements ($10 each) and had unknowingly signed a contract with Capital Leasing to rent the credit card processing machine at $19.00 a month.  Then once I got the machine, they added on a $4.99 a month fee for insurance. So now, before I even take one charge, I'm paying $45 a month for absolutely NOTHING.  With all the fees added on, my percentage rate for internet sales was 5% per transaction the first month.

In addition, they did not cancel World Pay.  So I had to pay World Pay for an extra month when I wasn't using them. Then when I tried to cancel, I was informed that I'd have to pay a cancellation fee of $390.  Bill from SBGA had promised his company would take care of it.  They did not, and refused to do so.

I decided I could not continue doing business with such a con artist.  I cancelled SBGA Merchant Services.  It cost me $495 to do so (it is still in process.  Each time I fax or e-mail them, they pretend they didn't get my cancellation notice, so I've had to have my BANK fax them so the bank has a record that I've cancelled).

All this and I still have a lease for my card processor for $24.95 a month, non-cancellable.  I have 23 more months to go. They want over $1,000 to cancel the contract.

SBGA is a total scam. They tell you whatever you want to hear, then give you a contract that contradicts that. DO NOT get conned by this company.
