Scanno Advertising, Attempted scam, caught! Anaheim California
After responding to an ad on one of the job boards, I got a call from Kristin Hadji who was very interested in having me come in for an interview. I did a web search on Scanno Advertising, but nothing came up other than a Facebook entry and their job board postings. For some reason it didn't seem right; red flags were going up in my head. I ran their phone number on an online reverse directory and the phone number came up as Kelly Advertising. I ran a search on Kelly Advertising and that is why I'm here.
This morning I got a call from Kristin confirming my appointment. I asked her if this was Kelly Advertising and she said, "Oh that was the business in here before... we need to get that changed" and then I asked if I was to return tomorrow she said, "Only if the interview goes well". I told her I found out about them and I will not be showing up.
I went to the City of Anaheim website to look up Scanno Advertising to see if they had a business license. They do, and one of the addresses they show is the address in Sherman Oaks that I found in other reports on these people. If it is any help, the following information is a cut and paste from the City of Anaheim website; it is public information:
Tax Certificate Number: BUS2007-04486

Closed Date:

Additional Contact Information Role: Name: Address: City, State Zip:

Owner ADAM KUCHYT, PRESIDENT
Corp/Partner SCANNO ADVERTISING GROUP, INC.
Mailing Address SCANNO ADVERTISING 13949 VENTURA BLVD 304 SHERMAN OAKS CA 91423 0000
I ran a Zabasearch on Adam Kuchyt and turned up relatives in Chatsworth and Woodland Hills, CA (near Sherman Oaks), but no Adam. Since he supposedly is a business owner, he should show up. This means that Adam Kuchyt may be a fake name.

Scanno has changed names; no website for them can be found anymore. However, SCMarketing in Anaheim has the same address, phone number, and fits the exact same profile. I had set up an interview with SCMarketing and was doing some typical company background searches so I could be an informed interviewee. After relentlessly searching and finding very minimal info, I came across a ton on info on Scanno. Everything was the same. Down to the person who contacted me from SCMarketing, was named Kristen. These are the same companies!!! Words for the wise; you know there's an issue when you type a company name in the "google box" and the suggested search that pops up is "Scam".

I'm so glad someone looked into this post and confirmed Scanno Advertising is in Fact "SC Marketing" at url: www.sc-mktg.com/. I sat down for an interview with Adam and within the first 10 minutes of the interview he had already set up a "ride-around" the following day at 830am.......all I can say is thank you very much to the person that filed this report or else I would have learned the hard way. It's because of hardworking, honest people like yourself that others aren't scammed and taken advantage of. THANK YOU

I recently graduated from college so I began my job hunt. Searched for entry level marketing positions online and sent lots and lots of applications. To my surprise, Southern California Marketing, Inc. actually emailed me back the next day! A girl by the name of Kristen had emailed me and called me later on. She seemed nice, very friendly, and professional. I set up my interview for the following Monday and got very excited!
The very morning I had my interview I searched their address on google maps. Kelly Advertising Group? That's what the results on Google Maps showed. Ripoffreport.com underneath the result? What's that? My curiosity followed and to my shock, I read all these stories. Of course I was skeptical about the stories, but it seemed to make sense after I researched Kelly Advertising Group.
I called back the office an hour before my interview and asked the oh so friendly Kristen to explain to me a little more about the job descriptions and what it entails. She informed me, to summarize her professional wording, that it's door to door sales and I will be spending all of my time out in the field representing their clients. Really?? That's what the kind people at ripoffreport.com said you would say! I canceled my interview and thanked her for the opportunity and to my surprise, the friendly Kristen had gotten a bit upset and finished the conversation with, "OK fine" and quickly hung up. Not so friendly after I know the truth eh?
I truly hope you're not sucked into this company! STAY AWAY.

I saw the postings for Scanno Advertising all over several job websites, so I tucked my tail firmly between my legs and sent in my CV. I was shocked to discover they had sent me what seemed like an automated message not even 12 hours later, which said they would like to see me for an interview.
I called and spoke to Kristen, she setup an interview for me the very next day. However, I did some research on the internet as someone experiencing my degree of skepticism would certainly do, only to find several complaints about this company.
I called back and asked some very simple questions, namely about the actual work I would be doing, and the clients for with whom the company deals. I was finally - albeit reluctantly - told that the job consisted of traveling around town to places of business, hospitals included, selling a bunch of unnamed products. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I normally do not associate advertising and door-to-door sales; in fact, they are not even close to being the same thing.
For my next question, I was - again, reluctantly - told that the company deals with local sports teams in the LA market, but apart from that, to call the responses 'vague' would be doing them a favor. "Restaurants and hotels," I was told, but I insisted that the job posting said Fortune 500 companies were among the clients, and I would like to know which of them I had heard of. Again, no real answer.
It was at this time I cancelled my interview. When some of the first Google results for a company bring you to this site, you know something is up. Apart from that, the only other results are for job postings - there is literally nothing on the internet about this company apart from the fact that they are hiring and that they are operating what appears to be a Ponzi scheme.
Don't be fooled! I came close to going in for an interview, but came to my senses and cancelled rather quickly. Just looking at their website, http://www.scannoadvertising.com/ set off hundreds of imaginary red flags to the tune of whistles blowing in the direction of the Better Business Bureau and Ripoff Report.
If a company can't even be honest with the people it's trying to hire, what hope is there?
