On 7/27/2018, I called SCEG, SCANA customer service requesting that our electric meter be changed out due to sudden unusually high electric bills. The customer service agent refused to have someone come out. She then contacted her supervisor "Marlene" and Marlene's attitude was that it was a take it or leave it situation and there was no way that they would replace the existing electric meter. And that I was free to contact the South Carolina Public Service Commission and complain. Their take it or leave it attitude is surprising due to the fact that SCANA/SCEG are embroiled in a nine billion dollar fiasco regarding a failed nuclear project and charging the residents if South Carolina (20%) more in utilities charges. Their refusal to correct a customer problem is an outright travesty, since it's their job to serve the public. I have worked for public utilities and the level of service regarding equipment problems was great. SCANA/SCEG can overcharge customers, yet when additional problems with equipment raises your bill dramatically they refuse to do anything about the issue.
