Many young people in search of employment in the help wanted ads have been drawn by the attractive offers of management with excellent pay. All they need to do is call a non-existent female, and request an interview.
They make you feel wanted, almost elite. And then, the scam begins. Selling fake designer perfumes to friends and family, going door to door, to parking lot to parking lot.

All in the hopes of becoming an owner of your own scheme. Teaching unto others as you were taught to lie and deceive. Making tons of money.
I think not. Do your reseach folks. It's a scam. I know from answering the ad. Sitting in a "training class" for 2 days. Being lied to, and being PUNKED!

Annual Revenue

#41Consumer Comment

Thu, May 05, 2016

According to Dun & Bradstreet, who I just consulted, Global Design E. Little Creek Rd Norfolk, VA, has an annual estimated revenue of $46,000.

How is that amount alone enough for even ONE person to draw a salary? When one considers rent, utilities, inventory, advertising and daily operating expenses must be deducted, you can only wonder how any amount is left over! What about contractor's pay?

So much for Nick Brunson's ramblings about making six figures a year! What a joke!!!!

I think anyone complaining about not getting paid by these fragance companies needs to contact the IRS and their state's Department of Revenue and request an investigation of their finances. Oh, and it wouldn't hurt to contact the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's Office in your respective state.

Unfortunately, it seems theres a lot of negativity and false information circulating the internet regarding Scentura, and I think its based mostly on peoples misunderstanding of the Scentura Opportunity. I thought Id post something brief that would help make things clear.

First of all, Scentura Creations is a manufacturer and supplier of rendition fragrances. They distribute their product line to Independent Wholesale Business owners throughout the U.S. Theyre unique in that they provide merchandise without any capital outlay to these Independent Wholesale Distributors, meaning they dont pay Scentura until after theyve sold the merchandise. This is key because it removes a huge barrier of entry into business Inventory costs.

Second, the sales model used by most independent businesses that sell Scenturas products is that of Direct Selling. Its a business to business, face-to-face sales strategy that has worked for over 35 years. Its not glamorous, and its probably not for everyone, but it just works.

Last, and most importantly, Scentura doesn't ask you to invest any money, it's not a franchise, it's not a pyramid or multi-level marketing business, there's nothing to purchase, there are no sign-up fees. The only thing required from you is your time and hard work, and youll get a chance to run your own business. How many companies out there are willing to offer that?

It probably sounds too good to be true, but it makes sense when you understand Scentura's incentive: It's a Win-Win scenario for everyone. You get a chance to own your own business, and Scentura gains a new customer, which means more volume. If Scentura only dealt with individuals who had hundreds of thousands of dollars to invest, they'd be waiting a long time, especially in this economy. So they're willing to take all the financial risk.

Again, this is not for everyone, but the opportunity is definitely real, and many owners have gone on to make six-figure incomes running their own businesses that sell Scentura's products.

Hello readers, it has now been a over year since this question was last brought upand almost 2 years since it was first asked.

Why did Scentura Office Owner Early Gaynor get arrested on a Failure to Appear in Court Warrant back in June of 2009?

Since this question remains unaddressed we can only assume that he failed to appear in court on a charge related to his business, my best guess, Soliciting Without a Permit. Click the link and youll see his name towards the bottom.

Come on!!!! What was the Warrant for and Why Did You Fail to Appear in Court?

I do appreciate that very much Earley.  If I can wiggle a opportunity I'm gonna make  a trip to your office and watch you go at it for a week.  You've done better than any rookie I've seen since I came into this business.  But you know and i know the strength in our business is consistency.  So keep it crakin'!!!  I wish there were more of "us" though, as in successful office managers on these posts.  So these idiots wouldn't be able to compete.  I do it cause I love it.  I love my job and I love cutting these internet terrorist in half.  And I know that there are a whole lot of weak people that will blow-out cause of these post, but I know there are a couple of strong ones that'll read yours and my post and confront us and they'll be alright.  I know this because I'm about to open a man into his own show after new years that read one of your rebuttals on a post that some idiot that came in for a first interview posted about my office.  They are all experts though I guess, the real smart ones are the ones that were there for two or three whole days.  But what do you do?

But anyways on to the internet terrorist.  Ask and you shall receive.  I'm not afraid of any questions from any of you blow-outs.  I just wish you came up with new ammo everything you got is 10+ years old.  The court case is irrelevant its from 10+ years ago how many things have changed in the last 10+ years.  And it's about Dan Long, who is a jack a*s, not any of us.  And there are a bunch of us that are and have been doing really good that's been here less then 10 years.  So you rip me because I throw facts about money, and accomplishments we have yet you offer nothing.  You all holler about one man and his dumb a*s decisions.  Come on guys.  But I do appreciate the entertainment.

And as always best wishes, happy holidays to all even the blow-outs.

Go ahead and keep spewing your brainwashed talking points as a rebuttal. What are you going to say that has not been said already? Are you going to show some proof that your operation is completely legit or not? Not something related to how much money you make but solid proof that it is in fact a legitimate operation. I showed you the result of a real court case that ruled your contracts unenforceable so I've already presented my argument. But while we're on the subject here it is once again.

Thank you very much.  You are correct owners can get scammed by Distributors and idiots like yourself.  Pyramid companies are illegal because they will always collapse.  You always invest and get nothing in return.  We are not a pymramid, there is no investment and we've been around for over 35 years.  Same exact location for 35 years.  You are wrong every negative post ever has some crap about having to do sales in parking lots, to friends and family, or bussiness which we cover to the T in the interview process.  I never lie to my people and we always present the opportunity for what it is.  Up to 90 days of hands on training to own your own bussiness and manage a new office.

And I'm glad you admit people can make money in this bussiness, that's the other complaint that no one ever makes money.  And just to let you know some little words of wisdom, no one has ever accomplished anything of any major value that didn't take a risk.  There always has to be an "investment"  Now our investment has nothing to do with money or any collateral value its time, effort, attitude, and desire.  And not only do I not discourage questions I beg for them half the time.  In every interview, after their orientation, after their first day and I almost never have ANY.  The only people that end up "broke" are the ones that didn't see it through.  THEY QUIT.  We never treat people "like garbage" I have people that were in my training that blew-out that I run into at gas stations, restaurants, and bars that thank me for everything I tought them about positive thinking and the difference attitude makes in life.

And you still belittle yourself by calling me names and never answering, refusing to answer my questions.  But good for you.  And good luck to you blow-out #1.  Happy Holidays in the unemployment line.

Now next blow-out rz80.  You might be one of the most educated blow-outs but you still don't post all the facts.  First off I'd agree that natalie and kevin are amazing people.  Now lets review your statements:

What is this "company compensation" I don't even know what that means.  Your meals never came from the bottles you dropped they came from your sales profits.  And I'm sorry you weren't the best "hustler" but then you should have stopped trying to hustle people.  Let the fragrances sell themselfs.  If I was on satellite any given week I'd make anywhere between $600-$1000 in sales profits my self.  I could restart the training today and I'd make over $500 every week of my training.  And just to let you know working outside dosen't make you sick, germs and bacteria make you sick.

Now maybe I'm wrong but you were probably broke before you came into the bussiness and left the same way.  But if you read some of my other post I tell every person I ever have before their first day that they are new for at least three weeks.  It doesn't matter how much merch they move or how fast you learn you are new your first three weeks.  If I based this bussiness on my first three weeks I wouldn't have made it to my fourth week.  I've been here for over 6 years now.  Thats most peoples problem they base everything on here and now.  That's why %80 or the population of this country makes %20 of all the money.  And then there's the %20 of us who make %80 of all the money.  I'm talking about people making over $75k a year.  More then %60  of the people running a office for this bussiness make over $75k a year and thats a fact!  Its funny you say you were looking for a quick buck.  I tell people that we are not a get rich fast company.  That's the truth.  I didn't get into my $1000 month condo after I had been in the bussiness for only 3 weeks either.  But I do now.

You are right you were the loser no where did any manager ever tell any person there are no responsibilities.  What we look for is the people who maybe have passed up for promotion because of their age, race, sex, religon, or look that are looking for a oppertunity for real bussiness and real money.  And that doesn't happen overnight.  Congrats on getting a degree I hope you do become successfull and even you admit it was because of the bussiness.

And I'm glad you say that you weren't lied to thanks for the honesty, but you do say that you were told you that you were going to get rich.  Well I try not to boast and I never say I'm rich.  But there are a lot of people that can say they have gotten rich because of this bussiness.  And if you've never made $75,000 in a year before and you make it now you'll think your rich.  It's the quality of life that changes after making over $60k a year.  Not having to worry about being broke or how you're gonna pay your rent.  Maybe not rich but better then just getting by.  But don't mistake me you can get rich in this bussiness.

Getting a office is not a dream in the bussiness if you've ever read any of these post you'll realize anyone who doesn't quit gets a office.  But thats where this oppertunity begins not where it ends.  You go through the training to get the office.  Which is the position we all applied for.  Or else the beginning of the job.  And then you throw in about someone getting divorced in the bussiness.  That's personal not professional.  Than what about all the people that have or do work for walmart at $8-$10 a hour that have or are getting divorced because of the stress of not being able to pay the bills crushed the relationship.  If and I do mean if she got divorced during training the relationship probably wasn't in good shape before the training.  You shouldn't get married in less then a year, or divorced in less then a year.  s**t now I'm becoming a therapist here.

So again congrats to all office managers for sticking it out.  Good luck to all the blow-outs past-present-and future.  And Happy Holidays to everyone.

#41UPDATE EX-employee responds

For the most part all I see in these rebuttals is a bunch of pompus behavior and attitude thrown around.  It's a shame.  I do agree with Jennifer, Scentura does make you feel "elite".  It is an unfourtunate business to get involved with.  Do I think there is money to be made within the company?...somewhere.  Do I think it's all legit/legal?...no.

My expierence with Scentura was 6yrs ago in Pennsylvania.  Their names were Natalie and Kevin; they were two of the coolest people I ever met.  Like most others I responded to an ad in the paper saying something to the extent of 'serious business looking for un-serious people to become managers in a fast growing company.' I knew I fit the bill and called.  I went to the first "interview" which was nothing more than filling out a piece of paper in a room filled with loud, top 40 music.  I sat and was "selected" for a second interview.  I went home elated, bought a new outfit, and was back for the second, group, interview the next day.  I found it weird that the guy we were all "worried" about, a man with a degree in marketing and business administration from a top university w/in the city, was told to leave.  Wouldn't he be the obvious choice.  I was even more confused when N & K told us that we were all canadites for managment positions, there were twelve of us.  Still, determined, I kept my best foot forward and came back the next day.  And the next day, and the next day...

Most of you reading this knows what came next and I'm not going to sit here and type it all out.  Call me a WPOS (weak piece of s*it) but it's irrevelant.  Point is I stayed with the "company" for almost three weeks.  I went to other cities and states, came home sick and in the hole.  Yes, there is no company compensation for road trips.  My meals came from bottles sold and I wasn't the world's best hustler.

I spent more time in parking lots than I cared to.  I had the police called on me twice.  I was cited for solicitation and trespassing.  Scentura nor N & K footed the bill for the fine, even though I was "working"  N & K's response?  "We're not legally responsible for you, just our product, which you signed for."  I'm not complaining, it was what it was.  Still that's when the disillusionment with N & K and Scentura as a whole began.  I really started to listen to the concerns that my family and friends were voicing.  (I'm one of the lucky one's, I didn't lose any family or friends throught the time I was w/ Scentura)  Not to mention the complaints that those who had bought some of the product off of me had, there were quite a few.

I wised up.  I saw I was broke, this was a job but I wasn't really earning any money.  I was sick from the weather (yes, it's a lot of footwork outside), hungry, and my family was worried sick about me and they're pretty awesome when it comes to letting me walk my own path.  I called N & K and told them my decision.  I was called a WPOS as well as a bunch of other stuff.  They told me I was going to be a loser for life.

Like I said that was 6yrs ago.  They told me I was going to be a loser, but my realization is that I was a loser then.  I was looking for a "quick buck" and that's what they promise.  I wanted all the benifits of a managment position with none of the responsibility which is what they advertised.  I wasn't motivated to do much and thats who Scentura primarly targets.  I'm not saying that everyone who has embarked on some type of journey is unmotivated, but that's who their targets are...the slackers of the world who want to get rich quick.  I know, I was one of them.  Today it's a different story.  Believe it or not my expierence with Scentura motivated me to get off my lazy butt.  I've got a degree now and am pursuing yet another degree (ironicaly enough from the same university that the "best man for the job" had his from).  I don't work a glamorus job that promises me I'm going to get rich but it's an honest day's work.

The only outright lie Scentura/ N & K ever told me is that I was going to get rich.  Other than that they never made any false allegations about what was going to happen, they were dishonest by omission.  I do hope that people take heed when applying to these type of ad's.  I met (in 'training') a woman who lost her left her job in insurance to follow the dream of owning her own business (which is a dream of employees, to get the office) and lost her husband, all over an illusion.  From what I understand she followed through to the end only to wind up divorced and I've seen her name splashed on here quite a few times.  That's why I say illusion, Scentura (or whatever else it's called) isn't impossible, it is attainable, but at what cost?  Me, I wasn't willing to pay the price.

There you have it owners can get scammed and not be able to do anything about it because your contracts won't hold up in court.

Wow! Really! I had no idea it wasnt 2001 anymore. But that does not change the fact that the ruling still stands! The reason your contracts violate the Consumer Protection Act is because; in the courts own words they are part of a pyramid sales scheme, violate the law and are unenforceable. Prove me wrong!  Youre rich, hire a lawyer and take it to court. You complain about people typing complaints here so do something about it. Take the case to court and prove me wrong!

People arent saying its a scam because direct sales are involved, theyre saying its a scam because you dont present the opportunity honestly and you lie to people throughout the process. Of course people can make a lot of money in your business Im not denying that but what you never tell them is theyre taking a huge risk. The vast majority of people that take this risk do so out of ignorance because you dont allow questions (dont lie you know you can only give your independent contractors so much information and discourage questions). People who take said risk more often than not end up broke or in debt and you just call them weak.   You treat people like garbage, call them names and berate them throughout the training and only show respect toward those who make the most sales. And you wonder why so many people keep reporting to this site.

By the way I dont have to explain anything! Especially to you! What are you going to do if I dont answer your questions?! Yeah, I didnt think so p***y.

So back to the subject you keep avoiding c**k boy.

In 2001 (see above posts) the Illinois Appelate Court ruled that your contracts are unenforceable because they violate the Consumer Protection Act. If your contracts are unenforceable then your promoting owner, your own promotions or ANY of your independent contractors can blow out with all your merch or money and you won't be able to do sh*t about it! Where will Scentura be for you then Stupid!?

You people are such cowards! You can't even explain one court ruling. Previous posters like Noah and the Zombie guy have asked you guys but you've only proved yourselves to be a bunch of dishonest pussies who can't even give a rational explaination.

#41UPDATE Employee

Wed, December 09, 2009

In our bussiness the holidays are amazing.  Bussiness goes up for christmas and then Jan-Feb are better then Dec.  But we get hit by the same complaints from people with the same negative stuff.  I wish the blow-outs would keep their stories straight.  There is no scam cause there is no investment of money of any kind.  And if you read enough of these you should know that you really can make some good money, in training and in your own office.  So what is the problem?  Is it because there are direct sales involved?  Then it's funny how direct sales is still one of the largest forms of work and always will be around.  But back to the post about the supposed regional that blew out.  You can read the same post from 2002 from World Perfume who we are not.  Who isn't around anymore.  So get some new ammo.  It'd be fun to get some of these "educated" blow-out together and a few successfull office managers together and debate.  The problem is they would have their handfull off BS same old same old, and we'd have a army of examples of people that have made Hundreds of Thousands of dollars in some cases Millions.  But they all made it more than 3 days.  Which 98% of these complaints didn't.  But happy holidays to all and keep rockin the rockies Chris and cograts earley and keep on promoting.

No Scentura Owner thats EVER posted on this site has given straight answers regarding; the 2001 Illinois Appellate Court Ruling that a contract between Scentura and a distributor was Pyramid Sales scheme, violated the law and was unenforceable. http://www.state.il.us/court/Opinions/AppellateCourt/2001/2ndDistrict/September/Html/2000964.htm

To be more specific this contract violated the Consumer Protection Act.

I understand that the language in the courts ruling might be too complex for you brainwashed scam-artists to comprehend but not even ONE of you jerk-offs can explain the courts ruling; not Rob Zuckert, not Earley Gaynor, not Papa Perfume, nor Tom from Texas; F**k it I bet even Larry Hahn wouldnt give us a straight answer! Can one of you explain or rebut the courts ruling without resorting to name calling, or saying you dont believe it or some other bulls**t answer?!

You're the man.  Now people it's like we all play the same record over and over.  Some will take advantage some won't so what.  You can't say we didn't give them the oppertunity.  Blow-outs all say the same thing and "US" managers reply with the same responses.  I've been in the bussiness for over 6 years now and I'm not at Earley level but I still live in a nice house in a nice neighborhood and live a good life isn't that the American Dream?  I love to read all these post that no one makes any money.  A few posts above said he blew out and was trying to give back to those in some sort of retribution.  I graduated high school, if that means anything anymore, but came into this bussiness with no exp, little education, and no money and am doing very well for myself.  I came into the bussiness with a lot of debt now have ZERO.  But even in the post he said he made a lot of money on satellites.  And if you're running a office with 7 promotions that are doing company min.  By definition you have to make over 150,000 a year.  So if you're broke it's cause you spent it.  But I could just sell our product 6 days a week and make over 35,000 a year cause the product is that good.  I tell anyone and everyone you're new till you've been here at least 3 full weeks been on a successfull satellite and a few Power Car's cause you'll never see how a bottle of perfume can make you so much money.  It's the big picture some will see it some won't.  So what.  Because there are others like myself and Earley that will be walking into my office for a interview soon.  Good work Earley.  Don't settle break all the records.

Disposable People

Here's the real gist of a Scentura operation:

Once they get you to sell vials of their gnarly concoction to your Friends & Family you're disposable. If you quit, so what? What did they really invest in you? Squat.

The sales to your Friends & Family were all that really mattered to them. They'll just keep hiring others to sell to their F&F. Those sales in the parking lots, Porta-Johns and beneath highway overpasses are just gravy to the local operator.

I have this testimonial from a former owner that I found on
another website so just for old time sake..

Ian Zeaman http://seniors-site.com/fraud/2940.html

I've read a lot of these postings; some are well written and some sound like
people just blowing off some steam. I was involved with this
"business" for seven years beginning right after college graduation.
I'm embarrassed that I did it for so long, but I was hooked and kept at it
thinking surely I would start making good money after all of this time and
effort. Don't get me wrong, there were good times and bad times, but after all
of it, including being a "regional manager" with seven offices
beneath me, I left with $507 in my pocket. Luckily I didn't have any debt and
it didn't take long to bounce back.

I'm not writing this to tell my story, just to give the straight story for
those of you considering this "opportunity". Here are a few things
anyone should fully understand before "taking advantage of this
opportunity":

1. Understand that you are not being hired and you will never receive a
paycheck. On your first day you will fill out an "independent contractor
agreement". They will explain this to you in a creative way, glossing over
the details. What it means is this: the only way you make money in "the
training program" is commission from the bottles you sell. They have told
you this in a creative way, but most new "trainees" do not realize
this until their 3rd or 4th day. By that time you've been in so many arguments
with your friends and family about this business that you don't want to quit
due to your pride. (It's better to get out now if you didn't realize this).

Remember they told you that there are different phases to the training program:
marketing, training, management, admin? This way it doesn't sound like you'll
be selling on the streets during the entire training. You will, and this is the
only way you'll make money during the training program.

Also, since you are not an employee of the "distribution center" or
Scentura Creations, you're on your own as far as solicitor's licenses, taxes,
and liability. They will tell you that you don't need a license. Call your
commissioner of revenue's office, I'll bet they say differently. If you read
the fine print
in the paperwork they'll have you sign (consignment agreement, independent
contractor's agreement) you'll see that all of this is stated there.

Once you progress through training and you get toward the end they'll have you
"stay in the office for the day". This will seem like a real treat.
They'll have you answer phones and interview people just like you were
interviewed, and at the end of the day you've made no money because you weren't
out on the street selling bottles. Most offices do not hire a receptionist,
they just get free labor from the people in the training program.

2. They have mentioned "running a satellite office" or "going on
a satellite" or "going on a road trip" or "fun car".
Here's what this entails: 3 to 6 of the people in the training program will
load up their car(s) with cases of perfume and drive to an area 2-4 hours away.
Your "leader" will tell everyone where to work and you will work
until dinner, try to score a free pizza from somewhere, then work until
midnight or so selling in parking lots, etc. You will then drive around until
you can find the cheapest hotel (if you're lucky and you don't just sleep in
the car) and all pile in, turn in the money for your sales, split the cost of
the room, and try to get a couple of hours of sleep. Oh, if there are females
and males you'll still all be together. Hopefully you're not with a couple
hooking up.

In the morning you may or may not go to breakfast (depending on if anyone made
any money the day before) and you'll hit the streets again. This will go on for
however many days were designated unless you run totally out of money and have
to return.

***If nothing else understand this: If you drive you may or may not get
reimbursed for gas. It will depend on how much was sold while you are away. You
are not an employee, you're an independent contractor therefore you have no
legal recourse. Also, if you "lend" money to someone with you who
didn't sell enough to eat understand that you will never see that money again.
That person will return owing a lot of money to the people who did sell on the
trip and will quit when they return because in addition to this debt they also
have no money for their personal bills.

3. However they have creatively explained you will get your office, and
specifically the money for your office, understand this: You will receive 125
bottles (more or less, the amount changes but the principle does not) which you
(and possibly a partner) will need to sell and turn in ALL OF THE MONEY for
(meaning no commission during that time) in order to pay for your office start
up. You see, when they say they will give you all of the money they mean they
will give you bottles to sell and you get to use that money to open your
office.
If you complete this task you will personally sign a lease (most likely a
sub-lease from a former "owner" who failed/ quit, etc.). You are now
personally totally liable for the full term of this lease whether you are in
business here selling Scentura Creations perfumes or not. You will also sign a
consignment agreement with Scentura stating (among other things) that you are
simply a consignee, not an employee. That Scentura is not liable for any of
your actions. That the perfumes are fakes and you will not say they are not
fakes. You get the drift I hope.
You will also need to obtain a business license. They will explain to you how
to creatively explain to the commissioner of revenue in your town what type of
business you're involved in. Believe me if you say that you'll be selling
renditions of designer fragrances through independent contractors you will not
get a business license. You'll say that you are a "wholesaler of consumer
products to businesses". If they don't ask many more questions you'll get
your license.

Scentura Creations will send you your "opening order". This used to
be 300 bottles, but the amount may have changed. You will be required to send a
payment weekly by cashier's check to Scentura for whatever bottles were sold
the week before. This is indeed a good deal. You only pay for what was sold out
of your distribution center.

It gets tricky when you don't sell much, though, because they won't send you
any more merchandise. I'm not sure what the minimum is now but it used to be
125 bottles/ week. If a distribution center sold less than 125 bottles / week
for two weeks in a row Scentura told the "promoting owner" to go pick
up all of the merchandise and "retrain" the owners. If you quit at
this point you are still personally liable for the office lease, any bills incurred
(newspaper ads, electric bill, phone bill, etc.).

Now they'll teach you how to run creative ads for "your sales staff".
Guess what? There is no sales staff. You will now be recruiting people for the
"Scentura Opportunity" just like you were recruited. You now get to run
interviews where you creatively explain to people how to get their own office.
You get to send them out to FFAAR, satellites, etc. You will collect money from
the people in YOUR training program for the bottles they have sold. You will
first take out Scentura's part (used to be $9.00 per bottle, I think it's
$10.00 now). You'll get a cashier's check and send that off overnight to
Scentura.

Now you'll pay whatever bills were incurred in this order of priority:
Newspaper ads (have to get people in to sell for you). Telephone (can't get
them in without answering the phone). Rent. Misc. If there is any money left
(doubtful) you can pay yourself, but they will tell you not to, you'd better
keep it for future bills. You obviously learned how to sell in training, and in
the beginning guess who is training your people and leading satellites from
your office? YOU! This will be your income during the first few months of
running your own office. You now understand why your promoting owner (or his or
her "right hand") still goes out in the field. They told you they
really like it or that they like to train their own people. The truth is
they're trying to keep their car. Unless you're in a unique situation with one
of the top 5 offices who indeed are making money. That's a whole story of its
own. If this is the case then ask how long their "promotions" have
been in business. If the office that is trying to recruit you has been there
for 5+ years, why don't they have offices they've trained who have been around
that long? What happened to the offices they opened 5 years ago?

I hope I have lent some insight into what this "business" really is.
So many people get sucked in with mistaken ideas of what they will be doing. I
am simply trying to help people who do not wish to sell on the streets and work
for straight commission to avoid this. I know this because I was the
spin-master for a long time. I did make good money when I went on satellites; I
could sell this perfume better than most. I can't believe now where I would go
to sell it, though. Parts of town where now I wouldn't get out of the car, let
alone hang out in the parking lots and try to sell fake perfume for commission!

If you're doubtful on what I have written please print it off and show it to
your "branch manager" or whatever they call themselves these days.
They will probably tell you that I must be a "weak piece of s***"
"blowout" or whatever else they say now when someone leaves the
business. Seven years of this I think I really gave "my opportunity a chance".
Also, call the commissioner of revenue and ask what kind of business the office
you're interviewing with is. Call the better business bureau. Oh, best yet,
call Scentura and ask them about THEIR office in your town. Ask what their
business agreement is with them. Then call the newspaper who printed the ad you
answered and explain to them what this company is really recruiting (not
hiring) for.

The last straw for me was a meeting where my partner and I, who were barely
paying our bills, were at a national meeting and sitting at the head table with
Larry. He stated that all of the people at the front table were making at least
$150,000 per year. I didn't make that much in 7 years, let alone one! It made
me wonder how many of the others at the front table were just like us, faking
it until we make it. At that same meeting Larry held an "owner's
breakfast" before the big "rah-rah rally" In the "owner's
only breakfast" he said "this is the only legal pyramid in America ".
In the rally, about an hour later he stated "this is not a pyramid".
Hmmmm.

I couldn't consciously keep scamming people week after week. Some would quit a
good job to start this thinking they would make at least $30,000/ year when I
in reality knew that only 1 in about 200 would even open their own office, and
few would make a profit once they opened. Each week we would have 20-50 people
start, and be down to 3-10 by the following week.
I hope by writing this I can redeem some of the harm I caused in the people who
I recruited who went bankrupt, got divorced, lost their homes, neglected their
children, etc.
God Bless and Good Luck to all of you.

Confessions of a Cult Leader

#41Consumer Comment

Wed, September 30, 2009

Of course we read your story Mr. Gaynor you posted it in almost every thread for months because its your job to brainwash people and constantly recruit new cult members to make you more dirty money. They brainwashed you good by blinding you with money and now they have sprung up in Baltimore, Virginia Beach and Raleigh.

So you admit some owners do the wrong thing.......... Wow ya think!? So youre honest about what youre doing and pride yourself on defending the cults reputation......... Big Deal! If people want to let themselves be brainwashed....... Fine! Its free country!

Stop with the whole equal opportunity thing because in this great country all businesses offer equal opportunity. If they didnt, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission would shut them down. You cult leaders are just trying to exploit people that dont know this by brainwashing them into thinking this is a unique practice to Scentura.

Not anyone can do this; people with intelligence, morals or any sense of decency dont want to get scammed and brainwashed throughout the training in order to learn the right way to brainwash and scam people themselves. No amount of money nor material possessions are worth lowering yourself to that level.

You describe yourself as something like a God!!???? Did you really just say that?!

There you have it folks, youve heard from one of the cult leaders themselves now. He considers himself some kind of God!! LMFAO!

Youll say ANYTHING to get people to believe you wont you?

Live it up Mr. Crooky Legional because no matter how high you get in the Pyramid the zombies are still going to EAT YOUR BRAINS!!!!! Itll be a small meal. Over & Out.

Did you not see the link above Mr. Hulk? Are you saying the Illinois Appellate Court are idiots as well?

Which issues of Elle and Ebony are you jokers mentioned in?

Scentura has no liability for any distribution offices, thats why they havent been shut down. If one office is shut down, another cult member can open a new office.

The definition of scam is a fraudulent business scheme. Scentura IS a scam and to try to convince anyone otherwise is a pointless, wasted effort. Save your lies and brainwashing tactics for your new recruits.

Over 90% of those that get an office dont make it past the first year so trying to say it isnt a scam because you get an office is just another scripted brainwashing tactic.

One more thing; choosing not to take the opportunity does not make a person weak or unmotivated. They just dont want to be brainwashed and lied to.

Besides, what kind of a MAN sells perfume for a living?!

All the money in the world wont stop the zombie horde from tearing you limb from limb. Keep that in mind Hulk.

Yes, if I may comment. We are haters. We hate liars and opportunists who see nothing wrong in decieving weak or naive people into a false promise so that you may line your own pockets.

If it was such a great 'opportunity', you would present that honestly. You don't. All you do is offer an education in lies and manipulation. When the human race is over and done, your kind will be the last on the planet to have achieved any kind of ethical or moral legacy in the great, cosmic history record.

You came, you saw, you acted like a bunch of entitled children. Nothing more, nothing less.

There is still time for you, Mr. Hulk. You need not go through this life not making significant contributions to the human condition. As of right now, you could, at the very least, peddle a quality product that people would actually come back for.

As of right now, you are squandering the many great gifts that the universe has instilled within you. For shame!

Hey look, all these people on here talking about Scentura Creations is a scam or a pyramid scheme are idiots... First off a pyramid scheme is illegal so if this company is one it would be shut down by one... It has been recognized by huge magazines such as Elle and Ebony... I'm pretty sure the government would have aught on by now... It is a multi million $ company and has a very good product that every one wants...

The product are complete renditions of name brand products which the company has to sign a contract with name brands to sell the product... U can not copyright  a scent u can a name but not a sent...

For the people that call it a scam are not very bright either... They are mostly likely some one who came in for the training program and blew out... They couldn't handle working to succeed so they decided to go make some one else money instead of working for themselves and making their own money... Congratulations to those people u have been promoted to a customer... I have ran into hundreds of people who wear the name brands of what we sell and when i spray them with out rendition they are shocked on how they smell exactly the same...

I also know 3 people right now who are moving out into their own office in abut a week or 2 they just have to go find the exact location and they are completely stoked about it... So if its a scam y r they still getting their own business... I'm really tired of these haters cracking on the company who has changed my life just because they weren't strong enough to make it through 8-10 weeks of training... The company isn't for every one but those ones who they aren't for don't need to be on these web sites talking trash because they weren't motivated enough t make hundreds of thousands... so if u like working for some one other then yourself and making them money and only getting paid how much they wanna pay you then keep at it and stay n your dead end job but those who wanna make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and wanna make how ever much money u set your mind to then when u see the add in your local paper or on craigslist.com then take the chance and become your own person.

In 2001 the Illinois Appellate Court ruled that a contract between Scentura and a distributor was part of a pyramid sales scheme, violated the law and was unenforceable.

OMG i got S.C.A.MMED! Yea motherfu*ers success comes after merching! I went through the Scentura Creations training program in Lanham,MD under my promoting owners Earley and Jasmine. I went through the same program as everyone else 1st interview, 2nd interview, orientation then day one in the field. I'm not going to lie at first i hated that s**t i was goin to be a negative blow out like you negative motherf**kers on here but like my trainer said i stayed till friday and got a chance to go to Middlesex, NJ and meet my promoting owners promoting owners Donny and Holly and met the owner of the company Larry Hohn. That was very motivationg for me from that day I knew this was for me. I had a lot of negative energy about this business coming from my family and friends. Basically people onthe outside  looking in. This is not a pyramid everybody makes the same amount. Only thing that i will agree on is it being a S.C.A.M SUCESS COMES AFTER MERCHING. I had to drop bottles to get to where I am now but if any rocket scientist were out there they would know in order to make it anywhere in the world you have to start from the bottom to make it to the top. But in this company the bottom is dropping bottles then out the field forever. I just got recently promoted to my own office in Virginia Beach, VA called Precision Management with my partners Delonta and Terrance and its a beautiful thing and real. If anyone reads this and want to know if I'm a real person posting this give me a call on MY office phone at (((ROR redacted))).
