I was another one who was tricked into thinking I would become a manager of my own office in 60-90 days. They also said that for the "smart people" we could go through the training "fast-track" meaning in only 45 days we could be in our own office. I found the ad in the newspaper and on Career Builder, so I called and applied online. I recently graduated from college with a BFA so I thought I would be a wonderful manager. I was called in for the 1st interview, and that only took about 10 minutes. They told me to call back later that day to see if I was accepted for the second interview, which I was. The 2nd interview was set for the following day.

I showed up all dressed up in my suit and ready to blow everyone else out of the water, which I did. They hired me on the spot and told me I would start Monday for orientation which was from 11-2, and to dress comfortable. I showed up with my notepad and pen, ready to be trained. The music was blaring (of course), and there were about 12 other people in the room with me. All of them looked younger than me (I'm 23), and they looked very unprofessional. Even though I was dressed down, I still wanted to look nice. Since I thought I was training to be a manager.

At the end of the orientation, they told us that we had a contest going and whoever sold the most bottles of fragrance to our friends/family by tomorrow (Tuesday) would get lots of $$$. Of course, I needed lots of $$$, so I did my best and sold 15 bottles. I received $105 the next morning. They also told us that whoever sold the most bottles would get a $300 bonus...that never happened. That same day (the second day) we were partnered up with one trainer and another trainee to go business to business and sell as many bottles as possible. Of course, whoever sold the first bottle was to call into the office and gets a bonus. Whoever sold the MOST bottles got an even bigger bonus! I'm a white girl from the county and the other trainee was a tiny white girl (20 yrs old), our trainer was a while guy about 26 years old.

Well, I'm not racist, BUT, we went to the most GHETTO part of Saint Louis, MO that there is. I felt SOOO uncomfortable going up to random people asking them to buy this cologne/perfume. They looked at me like I was crazy! Not only that, BUT I had to drive my OWN CAR, use my OWN gasoline, and waste miles on my vehicle without compensation. We spent the entire day in the heat walking from door to door and bugging people in parking lots. That's not me, and that's not what I expected this "Manager position" to be all about.
Nonetheless, it is a TOTAL scam and waste of time and money. I'm just happy I read all these scam stories before I got too deep into it.

I've also heard that once they finally give you an office to manage, you are responsible to pay for the rent/lease of the office space, and everything that goes into the office. You're on your own to say the least. Then you have to hire and train other people to do that same bulls**t job!

You never stop selling, the entire job is based on commission only! If you don't enjoy bugging complete strangers to buy knock-off perfumes, this is NOT the job for you!

I'm warning everyone...DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY! They go by different names all over the U.S. to try and fool people. But it's all the same. I'm just thankful I got out when I did, before wasting too much time or my own money.

I just did this interview and had a funny feeling about this. The other guy I interviewed with was a complete do*sh bag and no dought they will let him in on it. They also gave me the management crap. I knew that this was a scam when the guy told me to bring a pen, notebook and a SMILE???? A freakin' smile...what a looser!!! I have dealt with companies like this (such as CUTCO) A SCAM AND A WASTE OF TIME!!!! don't do it...It is a shame that companies like this can survive. I will be going in for the interview with copies of this rip-off report.

I am going to let everyone know that this is a SCAM...and I will pass out copies of the report. I am also contacting the Post Dispatch and letting them know that this is a scam. People out there that need REAL jobs to supply income.....pass these loosers, and find a real job. If they don't tell you 100% of everything up front, then it aint real! do something good with that college degree!

It is companies like this that make management people like myself very angry.

I have been in management all my life and am presently looking for a new job. When I do a job search, this is the type of company that pops up. Management, balony! (I'm being polite)

I have decided if they don't list the name of the company or anything about the company, and list it as a "management opportunity", it is not worth the trouble to even respond to the ad.

I'm glad to see that you got out quick. I'm sorry to hear that you wasted even a few days with this company.

What's funny is this: If they ran an ad in the paper or on Monster, etc. and they said that you would sell perfume door to door, how many people would apply?
