Schaumburg Immediate Care Midwest Immediate Care - More expensive than an emergency room! Schaumburg, Illinois
On Saturday 1/9/10 I decided to go to Schaumburg Immediate Care because I had overwhelming lower back pain. They took my blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and moved my legs around a little bit. They sent me home with some samples of an anti-inflammatory and a muscle relaxer. There weren't any x-rays, lab work, injections, or any other special treatments...just a basic office exam of vital signs and range of motion.
Today, I received a notice from my insurance company stating that they were billed $708 for the office visit, and I'll be responsible for a little more that $470 of that amount. I was completely in shock since even an emergency room visit I had a few years ago was actually a little less than this office exam and that required injections and stitches.
I called Schaumburg Immediate care today and was told that the bill was indeed $708 and that bill is correct. On their website they advertise that their highest price visit is $299 and the treatment provided in that visit far exceeds checking vital signs and writing a prescription.
