I was very disappointed during my six month stay at Schirm Farms. My vehicles got broken into numerous times while I lived there. The back locks were cut with bolt cutters on my work van, and hundreds of dollars of tools were stolen. Per the Columbus Police recommendations, I upgraded the locks. This time, the theives gained access by literally grinding the locks off, either with a grinder or hacksaw. My personal vehicle had the back window broken out and a drills stolen, and the lock was busted on my Honda Civic and the aftermarket radio taken, among multiple other break ins until I started carrying everything into my house at night and leaving the doors unlocked on my vehicles so my windows and locks wouldn't get broken. My neighbor stated that last year all four rims were stolen and his Camaro was left on blocks when he found it one morning. The apartment is not a safe place. One of the emoloyees who does maintenance stated that they have knowledge of illegal activity and drug dealers living in the residence, but do not want to report to Law Enforcement because it will make the company look bad. Out of six months that I lived there, for four months my fridge was broken and I repeatedly called maintenance and they finally fixed it four months later. Overall I had high hopes when I was told that Schirm Farms was under new management, but was sad to find out it is still the unsafe, dope dealer friendly "Slum Farms" it's always been known as. When I signed my lease, I had some write in terms on TVs additional comments section regarding parking of multiple and commercial vehicles. Management conveniently does not have that on file but uses a generic lease and states that is what I signed.
