I went through Schneider's training program in Green Bay of during March 2006. Enjoyed the program then got sent to North Carolina for specialized training. Enjoyed this too. Graduated this with no problems. First run I brush against a parking pole with pass. side steps. Pole was directly in front of dock i was backing into. Customer laughed nd said I was making a big deal about nothing. OK I call into schneider to let them know anyways. Second was with a ride along driver for a dedicated account. He was spotting while i was doing a slow manuver in a tight parking lot. Failed to let me know about a low eave, my trailer found it on the pass. side. Dark out, no lot lights so my mirrors were black I had to ask him if I hit something, he didn't know. Oh well I'll never trust a spotter again.then Dec.30 2006 Was coming home from Des Moines, after getting my PM and DOT inspection the day before, it had been raining off and on during the morning, hadn't been raining for between a half to full hour when career comes to bad halt. Entered a left hand curve doing approx 45, according to witnesses following me. Truck's steering never responded to inputs to go straight just kept turning left, left into a ditch and jackknife accident. Went to ER to get checked out after relaying appropriate info to STL and schneider's accident dept. Go in to see STL the following tuesday and was terminated for the accident, after was told to clean truck out of personal effects, truck totaled. OK not a prob. File for unemployment. Ticket I was issued for careless and imprudent driving is dropped found guilty of Failure to Register a Commercial Vehicle, I pay the fine as I'm happy there are no points involved. Schneider fights the unemployment claim. So we have a hearing and the state finds that they terminated me without cause. Shortly after Schneider Training Academy starts calling demanding payment for not fullfilling contract. OK now I'm passive but I'm not going to pay for something I had no control over. They fired me I wanted to stay employed and they've made it where I can't find work driving. Being terminated looks bad enough buut it gets reported to DAC services as a preventable accident and they did this before they even inspected the truck or scene of accident. Then I find that parking pole was reportd as a preventable accident not an incident and there has never been a insurance claim on the darned pole. the second I take blame for trusting a spotter, llesson learned there. But how can you be told to pay for not finishing a contract when they fire you 3 and 1/2 months before it's up if this is legall than they've got a good money making racket going.Over all working there was a great experience but I just beat being forced to drive for a different company when they sold off specialized, then this, good company for those who don't have to sign contract lousy idea if you have to rely on them for your livelyhood.
