Complaint Review: Scholastic Phonics Reading Program

Received unsolicited shipment of materials touted as an internet order using an Amer.Express CC that I dont have nor have ever had. This company makes all kinds of claims, including having several addresses, not limited to Missouri but also showing a Maumelle, AR 72198 address. They clearly state payment of 13.94 w/ "my Amer. Express as requested". This stuff came w/ the beginning pgm, and a free dictionary.

When I called to complain, they wanted me to mail everything back which I refused to do since I never ordered it. (Why should I have to go to the PO to mail their stuff back). I did say that I would return everything if they would schedule a UPS pick up and was told they didnt use UPS. I then had to call Amer Express to make sure no one had opened an AE card in my name.

This is a scam to sucker people in to buying more merchandise. Plus one is not only registered for the scholastic phonics reading pgm but also some pgm called Free Preview that you have to make sure is also canceled. Further you then have to ask that your name be removed from their email list, the telephone list, their mailing list and anything else you can think of. Does this sound like a reputable company to anyone reading this?
