Scott Allensworth of Capital Growth Group Associates (CGGA) handled my taxes in the past, but not any more.  He incorrectly set up a corporation for me, and his mistakes cost thousands of dollars to fix.   I started getting threatening letters from the IRS, the EDD and Social Security.

With each one, I sent it to Scott and said, "What's going on?"  His response was invariably, "It's fine, don't worry.  I'll take care of it." or "They're only trying to scare you."  Unfortunately, he never took care of it, and eventually the IRS started seizing my paychecks, which was the point at which I sought out a different tax professional.

As far as I can tell, Scott is NOT a tax professional.  There is no record of him being a CPA anywhere that I can find.  DO NOT TRUST SCOTT ALLENSWORTH!  He can talk a good game, but in the end, it cost me $18,000 to fix the mistakes that he had made through inaction and incompetence.  This has been verified by my new tax professional, who has gone back through the records and uncovered a host of missteps, incorrectly filed paperwork, stubborn refusal to conform to the requests of the IRS for audits, and multiple missed deadlines which amounted in thousands of dollars of fees and interest.

This all happened while Scott repeatedly said "I'm taking care of it, don't worry."  My only mistake was not getting rid of him sooner.

We (my family and I) are just now climbing out of the hole that Scott Allensworth dug for us.  When I confronted him in a certified letter with what he had cost us and asked how he would like to handle it, I got absolutely no response.  He has no interest in discussing the matter or arbitration, so we are stuck paying back the IRS for the mistakes that Scott Allensworth made.  Please stay away from this man.  Do not let him do any tax work for you.  It's not worth it.
