Complaint Review: Scott Auctions

Scott Auctions no scrupples - state of FL sponsered theft! Rip-off! North Fort Myers Florida

During my divorce there was a court ordered sale of property. I was given a phone number by the attorneys for the auction house that was to sell the belongings. I called this number over a dozen times over a 3 month period. The machine at the other end did not identify the auction company nor did they return my calls.

When I finally did manage to drag the auction company name from the attorneys that did not help me much either as Scott Auctions still did not want to provide me with information as to when the auction would take place. They also did not advertise the auction as required a week before it was to be held. Part of the purpose for this obfuscation IMHO was to prevent me from taking an inventory of my belongings.

To make a long story short, Bruce and Karen Scott stole property and did not offer it for auction. I will not go into great detail due to pending legal action but instead of auctioning a particular item they had transferred it to personal use at this auction. There were also numerous items that were missing that they obviously thought would not be noticed. They knew my wife was out of state and they did everything they could to prevent me from attending. If they had succeeded who knows how much else they would have stolen.

I would also like to make note that there was absolutely no accountability and that I have received no paperwork as to what was sold or how much was collected.
I had to buy a picture of my daughter at the auction (personal effects) and also buy back my mothers kayak which they had no business with having in the first place. My daughters guitar had also disappeared. Both of the last items borrowed property that the attorneys, the courts and scott auction stole. But they are white collar criminals that won't get prosecuted. But now that you know what they are all about maybe you can help spread the word.

Professional Company in Business over 29 years. False account of the auction.

I came upon this report by accident and was quite taken aback by the slanderous tone of the portrayal of the auction. My company has been in the auction business for over 29 years, and in the auction business, my reputation is everything. If any of these claims were true I would have been out of business a long time ago. The auction business is a very competitive business and unethical auctioneers do not remain successful, or in business, for nearly 3 decades, as I have.

Divorce Auctions are complicated and messy and one person always ends up unhappy by the results. There was never a complaint filed with the BBB or the National Auctioneers Association or the Florida Auctioneers Association, which would be the logical first step, if any of these allegations were true.

Please see www.scottauctions.com for very postive references from past auctions. I can supply references from past clients that will rebuke every false statement made in this report. I forcefully and respectfully disagree with this entire report.

storm troopers ransacked my house

A few other tidbits, I failed to mention above that in spite of recent medical privacy laws that Scott Auctions had for sale the bulliten board from my office with the appointment cards for every doctor that I was seeing at the time.

Also when these storm troopers ransacked my house they threw in the trash all my personal effects such as every fathers day card that I had saved from my daughter. And every other personal momento that I had saved over the past 40 years.
Of course the bannana republic of Florida will do nothing as professional licensing is really about empowering the state, and protecting the licencee not the public.
