On April 9, 2016 I have purchased Dell Latitude E6410 for $250.40 from Scott Copeland (Ebay ID: sco4774). I have received the laptop and there was an error "WERDataCollectionFailure.txt" so I have looked it up and there were many writings about it on the internet with no solution and some were even saying that it was a cpu problem. As such, I have wrote to Scott Copeland (Ebay ID: sco4774) the seller and asked to send it back for a refund with photo images of the error message on the laptop. However, Scott Copeland (Ebay ID: sco4774) wrote back saying no and stated that I was wrong and did not wish to refer to the error message. Furthermore, I have received more nasty messages via Ebay from Scott Copeland (Ebay ID: sco4774) and his flat out refusal to have me return the merchandise. So, I have contacted Ebay and asked for help, which Scott Copeland (Ebay ID: sco4774) then sent me a return label with more strong words about charging me. Hence, I just used the label and sent it to his business at 1150 Herndon Road, Bagley, IA50026-8533.

On April 18, 2016 I have received a notice that I have received a full refund from Scott Copeland (Ebay ID: sco4774). Scott Copeland then started sending messages on how he will ruin my reputation with negative reviews and then he placed a negative review on http://www.ripoffreport.com. He then sends me more message that he will place negative reviews of my company on the internet daily and for me to return the laptop, which I have.

This person flat out refused to take return for a junk merchandise and I have had to get Ebay representative to force him to send me a return label, which he wrote that he will charge me even while sending me the return label and after having sent the return label. As soon as I have brought up the return & refund matter, Scott Copeland has been very nasty and accusatory on his messages towards me.

This is a very disturbingly twisted person.

Following are the actual messages we have exchanged starting with the latest to the oldest:

For someone who relies on good reviews on yelp and other sites to obtain customers, you've really made a bad mistake by scamming me. I will post daily on every site I can find telling my story and asking your prospective customers if they want to entrust their hard-earned money to a thief. I suggest you send the laptop back before the dark net gets a hold of the story.

Return label has been purchased, warranty disclaimers will be enforced.

Your previous message

Instead of just a simple return and refund due to a defect, you are showing too much anger and sarcasm.
You will do the right thing if have any conscience left.

sco4774:

This is getting to be comical; no wonder you have problems understanding software incompatibility issues versus hardware issues.

Your previous message

Your words are coming on too strong, which is a sign of much anger.
Calm down and do the right thing with what ever conscience you may have left

sco4774:

No, I happen to be willing to give you the benefit of doubt despite all the evidence to the contrary. My conscience is clear; will yours be accepting full reimbursement despite a possible determination that it is software incompatibility and within the warranty information it very clearly states "non-defective returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee"? Why in the world should my conscience be suffering (or I be angry) when you are the one behaving childishly? Your inability to behave in a professional manner is very telling.

Your previous message

You don't seem so sure anymore, yet you are with so much anger in your writing.
Do the right thing with whatever conscience you have left.

sco4774:

Your childish browbeating is not helping you; if I receive the laptop back and it is a hardware problem that is when you get reimbursed for shipping. If I get it back and it is a software incapability issue you will not. Being the issue occurred once you attempted to operate newly installed software that is why it appears to be a incompatible software issue. If I get it back with it password protected, without the password, you will not get shipping reimbursed.

Your previous message

I have spoken with Arlene at Ebay and she have stated that they will follow up with you for now.
Do you not have any conscience?

sco4774:

There will be no return label forthcoming. I've spoken with eBay support and they will not issue one. Just because you've found a web source for you conclusion does not make it so. You were able to install several different software without problems but when you tried to use one of them the error occurred. Just because you are able to install software does not mean it will operate with the hardware. This is why the disclaimer about software is there; I have no control over capability and definitely do not have any control over the source of the software. Return it or don't; I've already stated you will be given a full refund even if it's software incapability.

I am waiting for the return shipping label to return your junk. You still are not going to look for the real meaning of "WERDataCollectionFailure.txt" and just keep saying it is a software incapability. Is this so you can pass it onto the next victim in hopes of getting away with it?

sco4774:

This is getting ridiculous; you received an common error message because of software incapability with your system and despite of this I'm accepting your return. Either return it or don't.

Your previous message

I have written out the error "werdatacollectionfailure.txt" and also took photo of the error message and have sent it to you. However, instead of looking up the meaning of the error you are twisting the words to force your own meaning. What is your problem? What is the matter with you. Why are you so twisted?

sco4774:

It comes with a 30 day warranty: repair, refund of purchase price or replacement if available. This warranty DOES NOT cover 3rd party service, unauthorized repairs, malware, software incapability, the battery or if you physically damage it. Purchaser pays for return shipping. Non-defective returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee. (This has been cut and pasted directly from the listing)

You stated in your original message; "I tried to scan using the Paperport but the system stops and I got a message werdatacollectionfailure.txt ." That your failure occurred at the point of use of newly installed software first use is software incompatibility.
I have stated in my previous email that I will accept your return and upon receipt of the laptop your money will be refunded. No where in the message did I even refer to the 15% restock fee and have no plans of invoking despite that your description of the problem is a software incapability issue.
Once again; upon receipt of the laptop eBay will issue a refund.

Your previous message

What software incapability? I am looking at your ebay advertising page and there is no mention of software incapability. Also the error message is not a software incapability. The error message is with a specific error with no solution at this time. Is this why you were trying to sell this defective merchandise? You probably have already experienced this error and you have looked it up and you must have read what many people have wrote about this error on the internet, which some have mentioned that this is a problem with a defective cpu. I have sent you a photo of the actual error and I was expecting a decent response instead of "software incapability," which is really disappointing.

sco4774:

Even though this is a software incapability issue that was specifically stated In the listing description as not being warranted, I will accept the return and eBay will issue a refund upon the laptop's arrival here.
