Complaint Review: Scott Michael Wetter

I first met Scott Wetter as a Co-Worker at an HVAC Contractor in Phoenix in 2009.  After some years of knowing him, he called me up one day in February of 2013  and wanted me to go into buisness with him.  He ran a side work operation called SMW (his initials).  Scott had a good reputation as an HVAC Technician, but lacked the buisness accumen, marketing, and sales ability to run his own company full time, and knew I possed these skills.

I invested my entire life saving of $20,000 into the operation.  I provided the funds to lease an office/warehouse, I purchased office furnature and computer equipment to build a telemarketing room, I purchased a Ford Ranger pickup, and HVAC parts and tools, and used my own personal truck as a service truck.  For Several Months I worked overtime getting the operation off the ground without even collecting any money for my effort.  I was all in on this operation

Under my leadership, I turned the buisness into a sucess, at the heigth of the operation it employeed 30 people, had 15 service trucks (many of them were financed using my credit), took in over $3,000,000+ in revenue.  The company won several awards for HVAC sales, and installations.

Fast forward to March of 2018.  Me and Scott together had drafted a contract on how the opperation would be split up in the event our buisness partnership disolved, and the contract sat unsigned by both of us for several months.  I went to Scott and asked that he sign this contract and he agreed to do that, but a few days latter refused to.  Eventually I confronted him, and demanded he sign the agreement.  I will admit the conversation was tense, I raised my voice.  Scott accused me of trying to extort him durring the argument (a criminal offense, I was not doing only by demanding he sign).  I threw some of my property on the ground after the argument was done.  This argument was recorded.  

About a week latter a process server shows up at my house.  Scott had taken a restraining order out on me, and turned the recording of the argument into the court.  I also stopped recieving any money from the opperation at this point.  The restraing order allowed me to return to the office to retrieve my property under supervision of the police. 

Knowing it would bring the buisness operation to a halt if I took my computer servers I purchased when I opend the office in 2013, I showed with a Tempe police officer to get my stuff.  Scott claimed ownership my computer servers, tried to tell the officer I was a crazy ex employee of his.  When I tried to take my property and leave like the Court order said I could, the officer put me in handcuffs, then separated me and Scott and questions Scott at this point about the property

Scott changes his story at this point, and says he may be unaware that I had property there.  (I had reciepts showing I purchased the servers in hand).  The cop books me on a disorderly conduct charge (the cops charge you with this when they cant think of anything else to arrest you for, but walking into a buisness and try to take their computer servers definately is way more that disorderly conduct).  The cops say the servers are Civil issue, and decline to charge Scott with any crimes relating to giving false statments or theft, even though he changed his story right in front of them. (Scott's actions were criminal at this point, but its up to the cops to charge him).

I see the Judge on the disorderly charge, and she lets me go on my own recognizance.  I file a Civil Complaint against Scott in Maricopa County Superior Court for my money and property.  I'm jailed again the next year again on Scott's complaint.  While awaiting my day to bring this thief into Court I broke the no contact orders a bunch of times.  The charges we aggrivated harrasment. 

While I am in Jail for harrasing Scott due to my inability to post the $5000 bail (and being denied a bail reduction on Scotts complaint to the prosecutor that he was afraid I would harm him if released), the Court holds a settlement conference for the Ciivl Case I filed against him.  Scott has an agreeement drafted that calls for him paying me $10,000 immediatly on my books at the jail so I could post bond and be released.  In essense, he used the Justice system as an extortion vehicle but claiming to be afraid of me to keep me in jail, then giving me the bail money to get out if I released my civil claims against him.  I was even chained up when I signed it!  This is what they call justice these days folks.  The Police let the thief keep the stolen property, then let him use the legal system to get out of having to pay the civil penaltys for it.  

I am posting this as a word of warning to others about Scott Wetter and his company SMW.  He is a very dishonest man.  He will claim you can trust him, he called me his best friend, and asked me to have his back which I always did, then the first chance he had wrecked my life.  I just got out of prison after 5 years (I picked up a few more felonies complaining about the Tempe PD to a Senator I knew, the Feds are calling these Threats, I did a year and  on the harrasment/restraining order charges). 

I am homeless, carless, and unemployed at this point.  Scott has bought another home, and is probably a millionaire at this point.

Scott does his best to try to ruin me and runs my name into the ground every chance he gets, he has even called the cops on me since I got out

This guy will steal from you and put you in Jail.  America is a horrible place if guy like this suceed.
