Complaint Review: Scott's Mobile Home

In April of 2011 in Trenton , Georgia was hit by a F-5 Tornado.  My trailer was hit by the tornado and my trailer was devastated and uninhabitable.  I contacted Terry Scott of Scott's Mobile Home in Alabama.  A friend heard the conversation of a trailer Terry had for sale.  And stated that the only thing wrong with this used trailer was it needed painting and carpeting.  

Terry Scott knew the devastation that was caused by the F-5 tornado and was told about  my Father's medical problem of having cancer and brain tumors.  I received help through "F.E.M.A."  for my home.  And I was going to purchase another trailer under payments.  I put down $6000.00 and made the first month payment of $202.60 to Terry Scott.

When the trailer arrived I seen that this trailer I was purchasing under contact payment was in WORST condition then the one that went through the tornado.  All the electrical wiring was torn out, half the plumbing was missing, there was holes in the floors, walls and ceilings, several broken windows, no doors in any of the rooms, vents was rusted out could see daylight through, no hot water tank, leaked in ceiling and around windows, had black mold growing on the inside ... among many other problems. This trailer was also inhabitable.  Terry Scott then said he would repair it with COST.  I referred him back to our original conversation about ONLY needing painting and carpeting.  And Terry Scott got belligerent and starting cussing me.   

Terry Scott moved this trailer in on a weekend.  He never got a permit to pull the trailer in or notified any official of his intentions.

Terry Scott hired two Mexican employees that was not certified to work on every problem of the trailer. During that time, I tried to get my permit sticker for my trailer from the Fire Marshall and he came up to the trailer to make an inspection.  He discovered that the Mexican were working on trailer and stated they had to stop.  Terry Scott was infuriated and on the next weekend, he sent his crew to steal the trailer.  I never got my money back.  I called the police and they said it was a civil matter.

I filed a civil complaint against Terry Scott and won by procedural default.  But since his place of business is located in Alabama, I was informed I would have to domestic it in Alabama.  Since this time, I lost my dad to cancer and am still displaced and my income vanished when my father passed away.  I am staying with my aunt now but she is up in her 70 and I could be displaced again if she passes.  I am trying to get my Social Security started but that is a long process.  

I tried repeatedly to contact Terry Scott to get my money back and he has been nothing but belligerent and cussed me.  I have talked with several other places that sell trailers and they know Terry Scott and don't want to get involved because he is underhanded and dirty.  They don't want they trailer park going up in flames because they tried to help.

NOTE: I am not the only one he has done like this:  there is a Sharon Knight, and Clyde and Dora Holcomb... among many of others I don't know about.  The courts informed me there were several others who have filed suit against him, but couldn't get that information since it was  concerned private. I filed a complaint with the BBB, but that was a joke.  It will cost almost $300.00 to domestic this in Alabama.  Money I do not have.  When my dad was alive he paid for the first civil complaint which was only paid and filed.  We didn't have the money to retain an attorney.
