Scout Plumbing Once Again mistreats another consumer! Carrotllon, Texas
I am not surprised that I was mistreated after reading previous Ripoff reports on this website. A plumber from Scout Plumbing, was sent to my home by my Warranty Company to replace my leaking Garbage Disposal. As he was installing it, I asked him what horsepower he was installing. He told me it was a 1/3 HP. I told him I have a 1/2 HP disposal, and wanted to know why he was putting something less than what I had. He responded with, "This is the standard size". I thought that was very odd. After he installed the new disposal, he asked if I knew that the draing was cloggged. I told him I didnt know it was clogged because the dispostal couldnt be used because it was gushing water. He asked me for a plunger, and he couldnt get the drain to clear. some metal pieces came up, and he stated that my drain on the outside must be deteriorating . I told him those small pieces came from the rusted out garbage disposal, and he said it wasnt the same material. I didnt know he had a degree in engineering. He got an electric auger out of his truck , took the PTrap loose from under the sink, but couldnt get his auger to work. He asked me if there was a 'cleanout' close to the sink, and I showed him where it was on the outside. He brought a bigger machine. He couldnt take the clean out cap off. He only had a pair of Channel Lock pliars. He said if he tried to get the cap of, he could damage it. I told him that it was ok if the cap broke, that it is easily replaced. He said he may not be able to get the instrument in to clean the drain. He was also supposed to replace the faucet that was broken. He told the warranty company that the faucet didnt work because it had a lot of sediment. I also told him the drain on the sink was broken and I had to let the water run when I shave, and that was too costly. He stated that he didnt know if they could get parts. He seemed like he was in a hurry to get out of there. He called the Warranty Company regarding the clogged drain, and they were going to send out another plumber to clear the drain.
That evening when I got home. I ran hot water in the sink, put some Dawn dishwashing liquid in it, and spent 5 minutes and cleared the drain myself. I let hot water run down the drain for well over 5 minutes, and the sink did NOT back up. The other pulmber came two days later while I wasnt home. My nephew was at the house. He said he cleared the drain, but he thinks there is a crack in it because his auger had a bit of mud on it when he pulled it out. I found this odd because I have not had any drain problems. I asked him why he didnt put a camera in the drain to make sure, and he said it was $450.00 to do it and the warranty company didnt cover that..
I called the warranty company regarding the garbage disposal, and they stated the plumber told them that he removed a 1/3 HP disposal, and replaced with the same HP. I told them it was a blatant lie. I also told them about the sink, and how the pluimber gave them false information. I also asked about the drain issue, and have yet to hear back. I called over 24 hours ago. I am curiuos to know if Scout Plumbing has any connection with this other company. I told the warranty company to never ever send Scout Plumbing to my home again. I am supposed to remember to tell the warranty company not to send Scout Plumbing on future claims. What a crock. Anyway. BEWARE Scout Plumbing.

The plumber with Scout Plumbing insisted that the garbage disposal he removed from my home was "Builders Grade", and was 1/3 horsepower, when I infact, saw the label on it which stated 1/2 HP. I wish I would have taken a picture of it for proof. I am going to try to contact the previous owner to prove my case. The plumber was curt and arrogant, which appears to have filtered from his Boss/Owner, Jason Gordon. The warranty company had Scout Plumbing replace the new 1/3 HP with a 1/2 HP unit , to make me"happy". I told them it was a case of what the contract said. The warranty company aplogized for me having to be in the middle of all this nonsense. Both the warranty company and Scout Plumbing told blatant lies to me. I am going to the BBB, and going to file a complaint against the license of the plumber and his beligerant, arrogant company.
