SDG Homes is full of broken promises. After talking to neighbors, the county, and township, SDG Homea has a laundry list of complaints. I wanted to warn anyone thinking of building a home with SDG Hone. (Trevor and his partner Ovi). Our closing date got pushed back at least 5 times, and we moved in with a temporary certifiacte of occupancy.

We had a contract of several things to be completed after we moved in or else they would have to release money to us for failing to complete the work. We withheld $27,000 in order to have work done within 90 days. Needless to say, most of the work never got done and we barely ever heard from or saw the builder again after we moved in.

When we contacted them in order to get our money, they threatened to take us to court because they said "some" of the work was done. Instead of going to court we settled on getting a little over half of the money even though almost all of the work was incomplete.

We have been in our home for 3 1/2 months and still only have a temporary certificate of occupancy because they refuse to complete the final grade. We cannot make any changed to our landscaping or build a deck until this is done. They do not care.

We went 3 months without an air conditioning unit, and we still don't have screens on our windows. I have 3 very young children, and they didn't care they we were in a hot home without anyway to cool off other than fans in the month of June.

I have several vulgar emails from Vice President Jeff LeMay (J.J.), that show how unprofessional this company truly is. I have talked with the neighbors and they have all had a very similar experience, which is very unfortunate.

I could go on and on about how Trevor broke promise after promise, and failed to follow through 90% of the time.

Please avoid this company at all costs!!! If this saves one family from dealing with what we had to go through it is worth it.

Final Update (NEGATIVE)

This is our final update, as we were pressured to write our last update in order to have Trevor Surdu/SDG Homes do the fixes that we had been waiting over a year for. Trevor did complete most of the fixes after I agreed to write a rebuttal to my initial review. This was the ONLY way I could get him back to do some of these repairs. After I wrote the positive rebuttal review, he only had to do some drywall fixes where there were issues with our walls and ceilings. I wrote the review as an act of good faith, but once I wrote it, I never saw Trevor again. Trevor got what he wanted from me, and was done with us. Not surprising. Please avoid this builder at all costs as he now is going under different company names. We were left with no choice in writing a positive review to get our costly repairs completed, but he still never finished 100% of the work. I just wanted to let prospective buyers/customers know of how Trevor Surdu operates.

Positive Update to Initial Review

This is an update to our initial review. Our builder Trevor Surdu with SDG Homes and his partner, Ovi Cojocneanu have fixed everything that we have asked and surpassed our expectations for all of the warranty work that has been done and his attention to detail. They met up with us at our house to go over everything that we needed to have taken care of. Trevor showed up personally with one of his workers the very next day and finished all of the work within two full days. Trevor and I talked about the past review I had wrote, and he explained how he got a little in over his head when his business became too big, too fast. I always believed Trevor had good intentions but just had too much work to be done with not enough time. Seeing this now, I truly regret writing my initial review. We now have a beautiful home that my wife and kids and I can truly enjoy for years to come. We have built a lot of equity in our home already, and have one of the nicer homes in the neighborhood.
