I ran my 5 ton 31 foot Cruiser up on a sand bar in the Great South Bay. Sea Tow attempted to pull my boat off the sand bar with twin Yamaha 150 HP engines. This is obviously not enough power, but they refused to send a second tow boat.

After the first unsuccessful try, we waited on the boat for 12 hours until the next high tide where they promptly repeated the mistake and gave up. This didn't stop them from charging me 3,600.00 dollars for the non-tow. They not only failed to tow my boat, but they damaged the prop shaft by trying to pull the boat off at an angle while the props were dug in.

Beware of these snakes in the grass playing good samaritan. They say they want to help, but won't help unless you give them a major credit card. Once they have your credit card number they will gouge you mercilessly at $300/hr + $50/hr for each foot of your vessel. Once your credit card is maxed out at its limit they will stop working and leave you stranded.
