In July 2007, I purchased a new, 30-gallon melter for $780 from Tim Trost of Seal-Tuff Mfg., off their web site. Upon seeing my check clear the bank, I sent an email questioning delivery. The reply stated "Next week." When that never materialized, I sent another email and the reply stated "I will call you tomorrow with a tracking number."

Several weeks and many unanswered emails later, I received an apology from Tim Trost stating shipping problems and told a full refund was forthcoming. Two more months passed with neither a refund check nor product delivered, when Mr. Trost sent an email stating a cashier's check would be mail next friday. This was sent on November 09, 2007. Needless to say, it has never arrived either.

I have sent certified letters to his home, which have had no effect. I mailed information to the Federal Trade Commission, which has had no effect. I sent a detailed packet to Lisa Madigan, Illinois State Attorney General, which again has had no effect. No one is willing to do anything in this matter. I went to my magistrate, which said there is little they can do to enforce a judgment in Pontiac, IL, when I live in Pittsburgh, PA.

After researching this company, albeit too late, on the Better Business Bureau's web site, it has become apparent I am not the only person to whom this has been done. Moreover, further investigation reveals others who've been "ripped-off" from Mr. Trost at Seal-Tuff, Mfg. Additionally, his web site (www.sealtuffmfg.com) has recently been taken off the internet.
