Complaint Review: Sean M. McCumber attorney with Sullivan Taylor Gumina and Palmer Naperville Ill

Sean McCumber had many conflicts that impeded his ability to fairly represent the minor children during and after my divorce: Sean McCumber advocated solely for my ex husband and was paid by him; Single father bias; Misogyny; His own addictions – gambling and prescription medication; Alcohol abusing parents (stated by himself in a motion). The four years of his involvement was a mess. He empowered my ex husband which extended litigation and basically aggravated a bad divorce. Among Mr. McCumber's long list of outrageous acts was to agree to a councilor for my children that my ex husband chose. This councilor refused to meet me and still hasn't. This councilor was used in numerous motions by opposing counsel/ex husband against me. I fought long and hard to see my children through attorneys, extending the divorce by time and so much money. He awarded three Christmas's in a row to my ex husband and four Thanksgiving holidays. I fought back and it became very personal. Only by finding a good law firm, did I finally get my children back. There is no accountability for GALs, as they are deemed to be impartial by the courts. Therein lies the problem: if one side buys out the GAL, the other side is doomed. There seems to be a few of us who have had very bad experiences with Sean McCumber. The ARDC will not examine these complaints as the GAL don't represent us (they represent children), so there is absolutely no accountability. But we can speak out as a group.
