A few days ago, I found an interesting website that advertised a service for extras casting in my area. I called the number and a woman instantly set up my account and told me that I could access the site as early as 12:00 AM the next morning and view the openings.

She then mentioned that I have a 14 day trial period in which to review the service and I could cancel at any time. She said she needed my credit card number in case I incurred any time after the trial period. I asked her again, "will I incur any charges at this point?" She answered with a NO.

After I read the number to her (stupid me) she informed me that it had been "processed". I asked what she meant. Oh you know, the $59 for the 14 day trial. I informed her that she had told me an outright lie and had in effect stolen the money from me. She said I could call back after 12 PM the next day to cancel.

I called the next day listened to the whiny customer service rep (what an injustice to the title) beg me not to cancel. After I finally convinced him that I wanted to cancel immediately, he proceeded to do so and even gave me a cancellation confirmation number.

When I checked my credit card statement today, the $59 is posted on it with no mention of any cancellation or removal of charges. SO I picked up the phone and tried to call the company. The lady said there was nothing she could do and HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME.

This company needs to be reported to the FTC. I am tired of the worn out trend of preying on actor and model hopefuls. There should be an Enron-esque frogmarch of all these companies and send their operating officers to prison.

By the way, the Better Business Bureau lists 70 complaints against this company in the last 36 months and still lists them as having a satisfactory record with the Bureau. Who the hell's side are they on anyway?
