Sears, annoying & harrassing, satisfaction guanteed bull!
I purchased a Packard Bell computer with a Sears charge card and had nothing but trouble with it the day we brought it home. I didn't even have the computer home 24 hours and it took a dump on me.
I called Sears and they said someone would come to our home to look at it. No one showed up. I called again. And had another no - show.
I called again and they said they'd send me a different one. I waited two weeks and it never showed up. It was suppose to arrive in one week.
Finally I just packed up the computer and took it back to the store and demanded my account to be credited. I of course received the bill in the mail and they expected me to make a payment.
I got phone calls from Sears asking me when I was going to make a payment on something I didn't even have! They asked me what I was going to do about it because the problem was still going to be there. They actually said I had to make a payment on something I no longer have!!!
After many annoying, harrassing, phone calls received, the last call was from some upperhand that said they would adust the bill as a courtesy to us. The nerve!!! They had to be reminded that they have signs all over the store that say "satisfaction guanteed, or your money back!" At that time it was even on the door of the store.
They tried to put the blame on Packard bell, but if they are going to sell the product, than it is their job to service it.
