When Sears could no longer provide the parts or repair the Kenmore diswasher (still under extended warranty)it became useless. We requested the return of our purchase price in order to replace the appliance. Sears offered partial compensation through its Customer Service Department; however, the offer changed when we attempted to follow through with the purchase of a new dishwaster from its Oakville store. The staff in Oakville (after communicating with Customer Service) was now insisting on a limited time frame (2 weeks) and we were now required to purchase the appliance and only after delivery would a credit be sent to us. This required full funding on our part with no actual committment on the part of Sears to follow through with its promise. Previous verbal commitments were not honoured therefore this arrangement may also be retracted. To date we have been advised that since we purchased the appliance elsewhere, Sears cannot offer any compensation. This is clearly a rip-off.
